Question about Cooper Industries Cooper Wiring 2158V 3 Gang 2 Toggle Switch- Duplex Wallplate, Ivory
The light does not need a ground to function properly. The ground wire is for personell safety. If the cable has a metal cover then that is a type of ground. If the electric circuit was instralled a while ago , and there was no ground wire included, it is still OK with the code. The National Electric Code is not retroactive.
