Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. On the Deflection board there are 3 capacitors CP 114, 120 and 150. If any of them is puffed up on top replace all the 3 capacitors. Resolder all pins on Fly Back Transformer (FBT) also. FBT could be in the power supply. Check the SMPS and in any event replace CP 120: 330UF/35V/HF & CP 150: 2200UF/16V/HF (May be bulged or vented). Always Resolder Cl031 & Cl032 (usually looks ok on visual inspection but common to ring crack). Replace deformed ribbon cable plastic connector BP005 on the flyback board. This connector is warping or bowing (May not even look like it) and causing poor connections to the Ribbon Cable. Replace RCA P/N # 258686. Try putting pressure on the BP005 Connector and turn the set on. You may find the set will now work fine. Replace connector and you may wish to replace the ribbon as well while you are doing the repair!

Note--If you want to do it yourself all this is only recommended if you have electrical expertise and know how to solder/re-solder components if not then you should always contact a qualified repair tech. Please make sure to turn off and unplug the TV for at least 1 hour (this will drain off current from all components especially capacitors) before you perform any repairs. Also note that the TV consists of very high voltages even when it is in OFF position.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee
