Hi,please check the tension setting on your machine it might be shifted, this will definately cause the thread to break and produce irregular stitches,if the problem persists, you should take out the bobbin case and oil it adequately

Thanks and take care

Would this cause the top thread to keep breaking every little bit??

When sewing it skips stitches also the thread keeps breaking.

Remove the thread from the machine.
Install a brand new needle.
RAISE the presser foot and rethread the top thread.
Verify the thread path is correct.
Load and thread the bobbin case & install it. Verify it is correct.
Set the top tension at the midway point.

My top thread on the mega quilter keeps looping big loops on the backing and the quilt is on the frame. How do I fix this problem?

I'm not familiar with quilting machines, but I have heard conversations about problems occurring when the fabric sandwich is stretched too tight so it is "trampolining" when it stitches. Also, the needle may need changing. Could be that the thread is too heavy for the needle being used.

JM humble guess!

Hook/needle timing needs a hands on guidance to get it fix, 2 options either you can watch in utube 'singer sewing machine hook timing' or 'google' for singer 7469q service manual for your referral.

Shredding thread

have you checked to see if the needle is inserted into the needle
holder correctly
have you checked to see if it's the correct size needle for the machine& for the fabric
check for burrs in the needle plate area & on the bobbin case
if these suggestions don't help then it's possible that the machine
needs to be checked at a sewing machine shop to see if the
machine could be slightly out of time.

I have the Mega Quilter and Quilters Cruise Control. My stitches are very inconsistent.

I agree to have the regulator check, & even having the whole machine checked wouldn't hurt.

My sister just bought the smaller mega quilter, we are having difficulties when threading machine. we have studied booklet and video and believe we have threaded it correctly. every time we try to sew...

when you sew or use a serger or a quilter machine have a long thread tail of 3-6 inches & make sure the tail is pulled behind the needle

happy quilting

I have an older kenmore sewing machine. It's been

When I have run into similar problems with my older Singer, it's because there is a bit of thread caught somewhere in the bobbin mechanism that doesn't allow the shuttle to run freely. Take the bobbin assembly apart and use a bright light to see if you see any bits of thread in there.

Good luck and let me know if this works!
