Question about Sewing Machines
This issue seems to be a service problem.
First take the bottom off and remove it manually oil it and it should work.
This step motor error indication could mean that the machine is not running freely and rather forcing the motors to overwork. Or it could mean that your step motor is burned out. In that case you would need to contact Kenmore to replace the motor. 99% of the time, however, they do not burn out, they are only frozen. In that case, you would need to thoroghly service the machine.
