Hey guys, Ive been having a strange problem with

seems to be a problem with the board (can't say for sure if its on hardware or firmware side). i don't think removing a cd while resuming is gonna do this but there are specific instances wherein removal of certain pen drives or other usb storage devices has resulted in a lost Hibernation session.even then you are usually provided with an option to delete the restoration data and start over. try resetting the BIOS settings if you are able to get into the settings page. otherwise try manual reseting by removing the BIOS button cell inside the laptop and replacing after a while only(say 30-40 seconds).

I have a Acer Aspire 5610. A few days ago I turned it on and the screen stayed blank/black witha full battery. After trying a few times of trying this I plugged in the power lead and tried and it worked....

could be damaged, try calling geek squad or taking back where you got it. when my dell acted up i called them directly despite purchasing from best buy. they didnt charge me a dime.

I cant get the svideo to stay on after initial startup

Did you try pressing the FN (function) key and F8?
F8 should have what looks like a computer or tv on it in blue.
Hope that works!

Black Screen on HP Pavillion DV1000

Sounds like a backlight issue, first power reset it, unplug it, pull out the battery (its usually the long panel on the bottom or back) hodl the power button down for a minute and then repalce the battery and ac adapter. that should do the trick if not i would suggest calling HP to see if its in warranty so that you may have it repaired for free, if not take it in to a repair shop

Last night i pressed something on my laptop and it froze. I couldnt even press CTRL ALT Delete. So i held the power button down to turn it off, then when i tried to turn it back on again, the light came on...

Great description of your problem, can you elaborate? what was pressed to freeze the program?
Have you the bootable disc for your operating system i.e. Windows? if Vista? power up the Lap Top pop the system cd in the drive then shut down.
Cold boot and you should be ask if you want to boot from cd? press any key (Do this) you should then see Windows loading files then you will be asked Location? U.k. England London etc., select your area.
Key board layout next, i.e. English or U.S. layout? find the area you require by drop down list. Remember choosing U.S. if in U.K. will change Layout Of £ & $ after selection the next page will ask for either full install? Upgrade? or repair? click on repair and hopefully you are Fixya'd & back to normal.
Please remeber me if you are sorted by leaving your response.
Good Luck!
