Dell Latitude 610 MATS Error F200:0119

So, my son upgraded my laptop with 1 gb of memory (had 256 Mb). Now I am getting this error message. I see that it could be bad ram or the laptop is heating up. I am not sure how to proceed.

Dell BIOS does not have any memory related settings. Please try with only 1 GB at a time if you still get the issue, change the 1 GB with the other module. If it works with one of the 1 GB module, then but not with other then the issue is with the RAM module. If it works with 1 GB 1 at a time then the issue is that your motherboard is not supporting 2 GB.
Since your computer is used to 2 X 256 = 512 MB of memory, it could also be because of windows settings still maping to the old capacity, hence you can also try reinstalling the operating system (keep this as the last option)

FIRSTLYThe error shows that your RAM is less i.e. 256 MB not your hard disk. You have a hard disk with capacity of 15 GB but your RAM is 256 MB only. You might be installing either windows Vista or Windows 7 because your system does not meet the minimum system requirements. You need to upgrade your system hardware or you can install windows xp.
SECONDLY You have to install the windows in your desktop only because if you install the windows in your laptop, then all the device drivers will be installed for your laptop only. So it is mandate to install the windows in your desktop only until you are using any third party tool.

I want my Laptop Dell Latitude C800 physical memory upgraded to 128 mb to 256 mb I myself already installed 256 mb Ram but it still showing 128 mb of memory...can I get help in this regard ?

I assume you installed another 128Mb of RAM to give you a total of 256Mb.
It is most likely the 2nd RAM module is not compatible with the other RAM module. Try using the same make.
OR
Purchase and install a single RAM module 256Mb or 512Mb these are not expensive.

Upgrading ram in a dell 5150 do I need to install 2 menory boards of the same size at the same time. I have two 256 mb and I am trying to install 1 512 mb to expand the menory to 1 gb It works for awhile...

you have 4 memory connectors. the maximum memory the computer supports is 4 GB. it is recomended that you install in pairs, for some reasons, but i have installed and i have seen it doesnot matter at all. you can go ahead and install the memory for whatever size on the computer. make sure the bus speed should be either 400 or 533 MHZ. and yoou never explained the error message. when you upgrade the ram you will get a message the system memory has changed press f1 to continue or f2 for setup just press f1. if the error message is in windows after you click on your name it has nothing to do with your memory. if its before that. than try to reseat the memory. installing memory in non pairs doesnot cause any problem most of the time. explain the error message only than i can guide you furthur.

I want to upgrade my ram what type of ram should i use and how what is the maximum amount of ram i can upgrade to?

Hi,
Memory Upgrade for Sony VAIO PCG-K35 Laptop, the Sony VAIO PCG-K35 Laptop takes the PC2100 DDR SDRAM SODIMMs Memory Type, and comes installed with 512 MB = 256 MB (removable) + 256 MB (removable) of Memory. You can upgrade your Sony VAIO PCG-K35 Laptop to up to a maximum of 1.0 GB Memory, the system has 2 sockets to install Memory, already with 512 MB = 256 MB (removable) + 256 MB (removable) standard Memory installed. For best Laptop performance use the maximum amount of allowed Memory per slot for your Laptop.

My Dell C600 won't recognize the 2 new 256 mb sticks of RAM

i think you need a same brand of 256 for it to work? and when you buy something for your computer make sure that the one you both is the same brand or code with your 128 for example you have 128 ddr2 sdram so you can only upgrade it with 256 ddr sdran or 512mb,1gb,2gb ddr sdram.
