Hello: Thanks to whom it may concerm regards my printer driver install problem. The printer now works. New and last problem: I have re-installed Adobe Reader 9.3 several times off of their site because whenever I try to read a .pdf doc. I get (& I paraphrase): "Internet has encountered a problem..must now log you off" dialog box. I have tried accessing a .pdf file from various web locations to no avail.

If the problem is just with the PDF files from the web ..than the problem is not with the adobe reader but with the browser...probably has something caught in the temporary files or ..it has a malfunction for some reason ..so ...first go to tools and internet options ..and delete recent files and cookies..and all browsing history ...than if the browser you use is other than internet explorer ..just reinstall it ..If it is internet explorer ..roll it back by uninstalling it from the control panel.add remove programs.. Sometimes the explorer 8 or 7 have issues of scripts and such ..and the error pops up and force you t close... reinstalling the browser and deleting temporary files and cookies should fix the issue .. By the way ..to check the issue open a PDF stored in the computer and see how it behave ..but Im sure it will work so the issue is with the browser..

Ok, I tried your solution & problem still exists. I also read a .pdf file off of a cd and had no issue. BTW: this concerns my issue with accessing .pdf files that kick me off of the web. Please advise of another solution.

I also deleted all cookies, temp internet files, etc.

If yo only had issue s with one PDf file on the web location ..than there s nothing wrong with the adobe or with your browser..but only with the availability of that PDF file...It is either a bugged location and your computer closes the browser for protection ..or there is not a working address anymore..But if the issue is with all PDF on the web ..than it may have something to do with the security settings of your browser..or ..with an exception at the security option ..or in the firewall so check both ..first go to control panel ..than fire wall..and see in the list to be allowed the adobe to access files over the internet ..and if it isnt in the allowed list add and browse for the program and click on the case after that to approve the access..
Also open the internet explorer ..than the tolls..and internet options..in there choose first the security ..and after that the privacy ..and lower the level of protection ..cause if it is set too high it may block some of these files and stop them from opening ..
remember all these I just said about security ..are to be done just in case that more than one PDF are blocked when you try to open them on the browser..If it is just one ..than it s the file that has issues and not the settings ..

    Hello:

Tried the security/firewall fixes w/no success. Appears that any .pdf file access attempt off of I/N causes me to be "thrown off" the web. I believe I have added no new programs to "instigate" the problem.

the only thing to try is installing this one after you remove the other completelly from the add /remove programs in he control panel ...and delete all related folder into the program files folder in C drive..just to be sure you eliminated all related stuff with the old program ..
restart and install this variant of the program...I know for sure that it supposed to work just fine on the web cause is the one Im using and it has no issues so far ..If after this the PDF are not launched well on the web ..than the issue is on your operation system and you need to back-up and reinstall the OS cause it has a bug or something ..It probably has to do with an issue on the adobe's security ..and thats why the on line attempts are seen are shut down by windows to prevent damages..

I think I will have to re-install OS. I am having printer driver problems again (can't printout a .doc but can print an email)

If I do, I assume I will not need to backup any data files (pictures, docs, etc.) Please confirm before I start.

    Thanks.

you can not print an email not cause you have driver problems..but because you have an issue related with reading the web pages...For the same reason that it is not opening the pdf (from the browser)..is the reason you can not print from the browser..This is probably indeed a issue with a virus or a kinda attack from one that messed with your browsing capabilities..and will be fixed by reinstalling the operating system ..
For to reinstall and get rid of any problems you have to do it by booting from a disk or from the recovery partition ..and you will have to format the C partition (drive ) of your computer ..so you will be sure you deleted any virus or so ..In this case if you have any documents or picture stored in the C partition (desktop: my documents folder) you have to move them in other partition if you have one ..or save them on a disk or mobile memory ...If you have 2 partitions on the disk and have space ..it is enough to move them in the other partition an d during the installation you delete and format only the C partition ..and all the files will be safe ..
I was about to suggest a re-installation anyway cause it seams that the issue that you have is permanent and can not be restored in any way ..
So...just move files in partition D ..and than boot from cd ..or recovery ..and reinstall...when you finish it ..just move the files back and reinstall all drivers ..(image : sound: printer ..) and thats all..it sould work ..cause it will be all brand new..
Do not forget that once the operation system installed back ..the first thing to do is to restore the internet communication and install the antivirus first ..and after that go along with the other drivers and programs ..this way you assure the maximum protection ..If you do not have a license antivirus..use this one cause it is good enough and free..

during installation choose not the trial but basic free protection ..

I have lexmark z1420 printer and new laptop how do i get the laptop to recognize the printer

Disconnect the printer from the laptop, install and run a system cleaner like
http://www.iobit.com/advancedwindowscareper.html
reboot then download (as in Save, not Run) the new correct driver from
http://bit.ly/cuMada
When the download is over reboot again and launch the installer - connect the printer only when instructed.

Printer will not install

Hello. Thanks for choosing Fixya! Click on your start button and then on printers and faxes. Look and see what other printer drivers you already have installed. Delete any that you no longer need and THEN install your new disc. Regards, Joe

More details are required from you in order to solve this issue.

Operating system of the old and new PC.
What happens when you try to install the Printer. Do you get any error messages.

You should download the latest driver from the website and than you should install the same on the computer.
You may download the driver from the following link.

Epson dx8450 printer

Hello,

Hope this helps. Install the nearest series printer driver it maybe available with Vista (DX8000 series). Other option I used to deal with my client with hard to find drivers, I used printer driver emulation. Hope you still have the manual to check with the printer drivers emulation. Last resort, is to find nearest Epson national distributor or Authorized Service Center. There might however extra fee if needed for the CD copy.

Best regards,
