I downloaded real player and when i try to convert my songs real playe super trial and offers pop up making it so i cant convert my songs right

Ok, it seems that that you downloaded media converter. However, please note that its only for the videos. You can't convert songs by this software. You should use it only to convert video files. For songs you can convert them in itunes or use Windows media player.

CAN'T HEAR MUSIC, IT SAY FORMAT ERROR,WHAT DO I DO?

Your getting a format error because the format of the song, video, etc
you are trying to play is not the format needed by your MP3 player to
play the song,video,etc.
Always check in your owners manual to find out what format your player
requires.
Once you have determined what the format you have (MP3,MP4,ACC,WMA,etc.)
you will need to determine what format you need for your player to play
those songs,video,etc.
If the format that you have for your songs, videos, etc is different than
the format that you need for your player to play them, then you will
have to download a format converter and convert each song, video, etc to
the format that is usable in your MP3 player.

Cannot play videos

Use Sony's content transfer to transfer the video. In the settings, select the automatic conversion of the video when you drag an drop it using content transfer. This worked for me with Windows 7 and an upgraded device firmware to version 1.0.1. Both Sony's Content Transfer 1.3 and firmware version 1.0.1 can be found on Sony's website.

My walkman can't read the format:mp4

Your Sony Walkman will only read/play the following formats...
Supported Audio Format: MP3, WMA, AAC-LC, Linear PCM
Supported_image_format: JPEG
You will need to convert your songs/files to one of the above supported formats before they will play on this player.
You can download a free song/video format converter at the following website:

Unable to play video songs. Which format does it support. Please help to find out the solution.

NWZ-S616F model is compatible with MPEG 4 or M4V video profiles at 30 frames per second,

I would suggest don't watch too long videos on this player because the screen is very small and watching videos on it after around 10 mins takes toll on your eyes.

Sadly sony has not provided any video converter with this player, so you may have to download free converter from internet called "Super" which would help you convert videos for this player

Which you can then put it directly on the player by connecting the player with the cable provided for PC connectivity and directly drag and drop the converted video files once your PC detects the player.

Pls note: if you have windows XP you would have to first install the Sony Software provided provided in the CD with this player, with Windows Vista and above you would not have to install any additional software

Format error .it will not play .

Hi ayalajr74,
Songs may not be encoded in mp3 format even if the extension is mp3. You can try converting the files to mp3 again by using a free program like Medimonkey or any online converter, and then see if they play. I had the same problem with all the .mp4 video files.
