Hi, these instructions will help you, first, click on the "Start" button, in the "Start Search Window, Type: keyboard; the "Keyboard's" Properties window will open. You can (Test) to see exactly how your keyboard is responding. if you are still having the same problem, (check the Keyboard Status), try "Updating the Drivers," by clicking on the "Properties" button. Now in the event that neither of these solutions solve the problem, which I hope you shouldn't have to do anymore; try "Uninstalling the Keyboard. To "Uninstall the "keyboard," do the following. Shut-down (turn- off completely), disconnect all the Keyboard Devices that are attached to the computer. Next, turn-on the computer, and go back to the "Keyboard Properties," this time click on the "Change Settings" button, next click on the "Driver" button, and select the "Uninstall" button. Once that is finished, shut-down the computer again. Now you want to "Reconnect" all the devices that were connected before, and "Turn-on" the computer. You will repeat exactly what you did from the start, this will "Reinstall the Keyboard. Restart the computer again after all changes have been made; this will ensure the changes take place properly. "Rating the solution will let me know if it worked, or you may need further assistance, thanks."

Try function and scroll lock at the same time the try to enter the password, if this does not reset your keyboard, remove the power and the battery for 3 minutes then turn it back on and try again.

When using my laptop it behave like any body has press backspace key I wont stop this problem, again I am pushing backspace key with my other hand it functioning properly,if I remove hand from backspace...

Hi dipannvora,

This could happen when they keyboard setting is malfunctioning or there is a possible virus which is the reason behind this misbehavior.

I would suggest you start the PC in safe mode and then check if it works fine , if it does , then the problem could be with a virus , else you need to get your laptop's keyboard serviced and the problem would be solved.

Sorry to have to tell you but it does look like you did maim and injure your keyboard.

BUT all is not lost

If you are willing to put some time and effort into it and feel comfortable pulling things apart but more important being able to put it back together again then you could remove the keyboard strip it down do a proper clean and re-assemble

Hmm not happy at the prospect ?

Ok plug a cheap USB or PS2 (check what you need) keyboard in and that will get you going again for the moment.

Bit Happier I hope ?
But wait there is more

Ebay is a prime source of laptop parts at great prices and the good news is that laptop keyboards are not as expensive as many might think !
They are for the most part easy to replace too !

You didn't tell us what model your lappy is so I could find a site to send you for the destructions (oops) but I am sure you can work google and maybe type "mymodlelaptop replace keyboard"

Hi, did you check your keyboard settings yet? At Control Panel --> Keyboard - there you can adjust the keyboard delay. That could be the problem. Give it a try and let me know.

Pressed key repeat

I have had the same problem for ever. I have found that unplugging the USB dongle, waiting 10+ seconds and than plugging it back in tends to fix it right away.

After a few weeks you might have to do it again. Annoying problem but a simple fix.

I have tried the whole shaking it and taking it apart and cleaning it but that never seemed to work and in some cases made the problem worse. The only thing that fixes it for me is unplugging it and plugging it back in. Hope this helps!
