i had this problem last week. serviceman repaired the convergence issue.
STK392-560 x2 and either fuses or resistors that were blown out
that stk part goes for around 7-10 bucks each on the web
you will need soldering skills to complete the repair.

The cost I don't know, but this can be fixed. I'd say shop around a bit. Make sure the repair person is certified for your TV's manufacturer. There are generally 3 lamps in projection T.V.'s, Red, Green, and Blue. They have to be aligned for the TV to project a clear picture. A credible TV repairman should be able to fix it. Depending on if it's new enough to be under warranty they may cover it as well. Really the only reason to get rid of it is if you want to get a new TV anyway. Depends on the cost of having the lamps aligned.

FIrst question? if you do not have the convergence option in the customer setup menu then go read the fl231 fuse problem in the tips and tricks section. this is a common problem and a very inexpensive repair

HI, this is basic convergence failure. the convergence board controls the RGB stream and , if its malfunctioning or, the convergence chip set is damaged, it will distort the entire display and the colors will not be regulated correctly as you are experiencing at this time.
simply replacing the convergence board in this unit will fix your issue.
