Question about Palm Treo 755p Smartphone

Phone calls won't connect

Whenever I emerge from a place that has limited phone reception (basement, parking garage, etc), I am unable to place or receive calls. The signal strength is fine, and I can dial the number no problem, and the screen says "dialing", but it won't connect and the phone timer won't start. It will try for a maybe 10 seconds, and just go back to the keypad screen. I've tried soft reset many times which resolves the problem for a day or two, a hard reset lasted about a week. No third party programs. I took it to Sprint twice and they couldn't find anything wrong. I had this problem with my 700p, so I upgraded to the 755p and the same thing is happening. Could it be a problem with the network?

    I am having the exact same problem and additionally my phone won't turn on unless I plug it into the charger. I am taking it to sprint this week to get checked out.

    I have the same problem. When I dial a number it says dialing but I can't hear any ringtone and it never goes through. After about 25 seconds it goes back to the keypad screen. Also, I can receive calls but when I pick up I can't hear the other person talking. Soft and hard resets don't work.

    My treo 755 seems to have less of a signal that the 650 that I owned. When I am roaming it works fine. When I am in the Sprint service network the reception goes in and out. I have taken it to Sprint to have a "software upgrade" but it does not help.

    I have a similar problem. now on my 4th 755p sprint keeps sending me new ones because they don't know how to solve or even understand whats going on. its not all the time, some days are better than others. my phone will work normal and then no calls in or out. if i make a call it does the same situation as above it attempts to call goes to the dialing screen and ten or seconds go by and then back to the dial screen like nothing happened. if i turn the phone portion off and then back on by holding the power button it will work. sometimes for one call sometimes for longer. had the 755p for over a year no issues. my issues just started happening in march of 09'. no one at sprint can help. tried calling palm but they read out of a book and i think there in India somewhere. does anyone know if wireless computer devices or cordless phone technology can be causing this?

    i have done the soft resets, hard resets, new software download and current, new profiles on hot sync. lost

I have the same problem with my Verizon treo 755p. It will dial but I can't hear anything from the other end. I can receive calls but when I answer, I can't hear the person on the other end. I guess I need to visit Verizon to have them look at it or give me another phone.

I'm stuck on the yellow screen thats says "refreshing"


This could be a software or a hardware fault. If you recently changed the firmware or made other modifications to the file-system using EFS Explorer (or similar software), it may well be software related.

If you think the problem may be software related, try using Emergency Download mode to reflash your phone.
Possible faults to check with the hardware include:
  • The battery is empty, damaged or worn out. Try taking the battery out and connection your phone using the USB cable only.
  • The contacts of the battery are damaged or the battery has leaked.
  • The screen may be damaged and will not display a picture - check if the lower buttons light up when the End Call (Red) key is pressed.
In the case of a hardware fault or if you are unsure, contact the store from where your purchased your phone on for advice on the best action to take.


Emergency Download Mode __________________________________________ What is Emergency Download Mode? Emergency Download Mode allows you to connect your phone to your computer and use flashing tools (e.g. LGDMP) to restore or change your firmware.

How do I access Emergency Download Mode?
  1. Make sure your phone is off.
  2. Hold down the Green (Call) + C (Delete) + Red (End Call) + Image Stabiliser (Lock) buttons
  3. Your phone should turn on and go straight to a screen saying 'Emergency Download' without first showing the usual LG Logo.
  4. You can now connect your phone using the USB cable and use Flashing tools to fix your phone.

Use the EFS explorer mode and check the maps.

If there is a map named TOTO and a map LGAPP.

First rename the map LGAPP in to any name you want or change
it like this AAAA.

Secend Rename the map TOTO to LGAPP.
Delete the first map you renamed the LGAPP.

When your finished choose disconnect and wait until the process is done.

You will see the phone starts up in a normal mode if not then
you've to reflash the phone.

Browser doesnt load page


Just like a computer browser, whenever you browse the internet, the G1 will download images, text, passwords, etc from all sites accessed. it places this info in a place called a 'Cache'....it can get so full it will prevent pages from loading. to fix this, clear your cache. there are 2 ways to do this.....

1: MENU > SETTINGS > APPLICATIONS > MANAGE APPLICATIONS > BROWSER > CLEAR DATA

2: BROWSER > MENU > MORE > SETTINGS > SELECT CLEAR CACHE, CLEAR HISTORY, CLEAR ALL COOKIE DATA, CLEAR PASSWORDS

after doing that, turn off and on the handheld and try it again. if you keep up on doing this everytime youre done browsing the web, it wont happen again.

ATT carries the Blackjack II and the coverage they offer isn't the best
most of the time if im in a building I get no reception
even though this phone can connect to eight different network frequencies

Missed phone calls


I was having this problem and then realized I had entered my wife's cell number as an emergency number. When I removed it as an emergency number missed calls from her showed up.

Weird Bug on my Jam - Phone Indicator not functioning properly


this is a bug in the windows version either you install a new windows 2003 CE
or try to get the last windows updates from club i-mate site ,
this will fix this bug problem
and you cannot recieve any call because the flight mode disable the phone so u can't register your phone on the network

GSM reception problem


To some degree this is a known problem for the h63XX series. The US version the 6315 has a GPRS update that "helps" the device reacquire the signal. Therefore, I recommend that you contact your cellular and ask them if a similar firmware update is available for your particular unit. Clearly, since the h63XX series has several known issues at this time, I highly recommend you don't use any third-party applications that are not WM 2003 AND 63XX certified and tested.
