Either there is a burnt out capacitor on the main board (usually they looked swelled up when bad) Sometimes they cause burn marks on the board. OR the power inverter aka power supply is bad.

My TV cut off by itself.

I'm not a repairman, but I do know that a lot of sudden power-offs happen due to overheating. If an electronic device gets too hot, it has a auto shut off function that kicks in. Try unplugging it for 10-30 minutes and then try it. If its plugged into a surge protector, try plugging it directly into the wall outlet.

We were watching and it just suddenly turned off by itself. now, it won't turn back on.

Likely to be a blown fuse.
If it isn't a fuse in the plug it may be an internal one in the set itself (job for qualified TV repairer)

Sometimes a static electricity build up will cause this to occur. Is the humidity in your house to low? Has the issue resolved itself?

TV turned off by itself and now it won't turn back on

If the tv has nothing happening at all when you try and turn it back on including any noise, your power supply is broken. If it is still trying to turn on or does make noise, an internal component has come loose or been knocked off, most likely to your picture tube.

first did you getthe lamp from miths and if notyou could have bought a bad lamp. you need to get a lamp form mits if you did not buy from them. if you did buy from mits have them replace the lamp it has a 90 day warranty. try hitting the menu and device / input buttons for 5 sec and repost the blink code. it is a 2 digits blink code. (ex. 23 or 33 or 26 like that)

Did you get your tv fixed? It may be the Sub power supply unit. If the main supply went out it would not light the display at all. Yes it is time for th repair shop. Good Luck.
