Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

I have a Maytag Neptune Stackable Washer/Dryer. Upon researching my problem, I discovered the belt had come off completely and was laying in the bottom of the unit. I put the belt on, and it is slipping off with each rotation. Do I need a new belt (the old one seems to be intact) or could there be another problem beyond the belt?

Make sure the belt is tight enough when installed; only a maximum of 1-inch play is allowed when the belt is pushed inside. Check the alignment of the drum and the motor pulleys. The belt has ribs which mate the face of the motor pulley. Misalignment will surely make the belt slip off with each rotation. Specify the exact model number of the washer for specific and accurate parts number, troubleshooting, and repair advice.

Very loud spin cycle

It sounds like the bearings have gone out in the tub. The major cause of this is using powder soap. There is nothing you can do but replace the rear outer tub. This is a costly fix but maybe worth it for a stack unit.

Neptune stackable -water left below the drum after cycle complete

Some water yes. a lot of water no.As long as the water stays below the wash tub you should be OK.
You might want to pull your water pump off and check for a restriction.

That is correct. Take the screws out of the console up top. look for a burn mark on your circuit board. If it's on R11, replaced your door lock wax motor as well at the board.

Water problem with stackable Maytag Neptune

You have to make sure your self if water is getting through the hoses first.Remove the hot& cold hoses on the back of unit.Make sure there isn't a clog in side of the water valve screens ,if so clean them.Still not filling?Possibly a blown fuse.
