Okay, since you didn't like my other answer, what would you like? There is nothing on the camera that will give you the number of shutter actuations. The closest you'll get is a number embedded in each picture. I pointed you at one program that can read that number. Would you like another one? For the Mac, perhaps? I can't help you if you can't tell me what you want.

Having received no response in over a month, I assume one of those programs suited the purpose.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I would like to check the actuations on my DE2X Any ideas Thanks

Nikon claims there is no way to reliably determine the number of shutter actuations. However, there is some data buried in the EXIF info. One way to see this number is with a program called PreviewExtractor, available for Windows from http://drchung.new21.net/previewextractor

The camera is probably in Auto Mode. Set it to manual and you can change your ISO, Shutter, and Apeture settings.

Apperture on Nikon d2x doesn't close after 3.5-4.5

You need to "lock" the lens at the smallest aperature. With the lens removed from the camera, rotate the ring to the smallest aperture, which is the largest number (like 16 or 22). Next to that number you will see a small slide switch. Move that switch. It loocks that ring at that setting.

Remount the lens and try.

View Live Images?

You can't view live images on the monitor; the D2X does not have a Live View capability. A suitable version of Nikon Camera Control Pro may allow you to connect the D2X to a computer.

Gluing rubber cover on rear door of Nikon D2x

i have little faith that this can be done, as i tried doing it with epoxy - my favorite, never-fails adhesive - and it didn't work. i think if you can get your camera to Nikon, though, they'll replace the whole door with another whose rubber isn't likely to come off. i read someone online saying they took their D2x in for some other repair and Nikon replaced the door without even asking him...whether they did it for free, i don't know, but i'd hope so, since the rubber falling off in the first place is really their fault.
