They are both almost equally matched..and it seam to have almost the same features..but I will go for the Asus..The Cpu are about the same ..but in the MSI it has a socket that will not let room for anything else..but that ..
It sais that the G from the msi came from the gaming capability but the card from the asus seams better and it has Hd capability and 3 way out for hdmi .video and vga..they both have ap to 4 G on slot of ddr3 Ram memory ..the thing that captured my attention was the audio from the assus and the video card that is way beyond what used to came on board ..and it is the most well known manufacturer for these stuff..and its almost 25 dollars cheaper than the MSI..and the CPu its on a much friendly socket ..so ...being matched on performance ..I will go for the price..and the name ..and the commodity of a socket that will fit other stuff..and the Radeon GPU..on 4200....sounds enough for almost all even if the other was almost in the same range..

Asus M4A785TD-V EVO is better than the MSI board.

The Asus board supports the latest AMD 6 core cpus, (Phenom II x6)

I myself would buy the Asus board out of these two, let me know if you need anything else or if you have further questions.

Hello,

Thanks for using FixYa.

I suggest that you get the MSI motherboard. ASUS has been on the mobo sceen for quite some time now but they have been overtaken by MSI. MSI has been producing very nice mobos for the past years. Their mobos are Overclocker friendly and is very easy to maintain.

I hope this helps. Thanks and good day.

Hi, I have a problem with my MSI 790GX-G65 motherboard with Phenom II 1055T processor, it will show me random bluescreens even when doing light browsing of internet or even during system is idle. Any...

This is often caused by drivers, software or hardware conflict. If possible reinstall everything even i recommend the Windows/OS. But first uninstall the suspected software and scan using an updated antivirus, clean the hardwares and motherboard. Uninstall newly added software or hardware. Restore to the previous settings when there wasn't problem. If all the precautions doesn't help, your only option is to format the system and reinstall fresh operating system. But if you can't do all these, better to let the Technician do it for you, otherwise you may make mistakes. Good luck..

I have MSI 790GX-G65 but it looks different the same motherboard but the colorss of the slots are diffrent and the color of the motherboard is darker I just wanna know if it fake or what

A couple months old release of the 790GX-G65 has not been copied.

First you should check if the reseller gives you warranty of the item (at least 3 mos.).

I got mine of different color too and asked MSI about it. Their reply was:

"will probably be different according to the different selling areas of product models. For details please refer to the descriptions on the product package."

Hope this helps.

I bought a MSi 790gx-g65 mobo and an AMD Phenom II x4 940 which is am2+. Everything I've heard about this mobo is that it's am2+ and am3 capable, will the Phenom II am2+ I just bought work in this mobo?

Yes it will, but you'll need to update the bios to the latest one in order to be sure the processor is recognized. The 790 chipset will make that board an excellent performer with the Phenom 940. Give it as much dual channel ram as you can afford, up to the max of 4 gig for a 32 bit O/S or 64 gig for a 64 bit system.

No sound card found!

Hi,
check your bios to see if your sound card is not turned off. If it is on, and no OS can see it / also try some Linux live cd´s like kubuntu / it may be damaged. That would also explain freezing. About the freezing, make sure, the cpu cooler sits correctly, better yet, reattach it with new cooling paste.
