Okay here's the deal:
When I press the button to start up my computer, the monitor doesn't even tuen on. I've put an older video card and still doesn't work. All the fans are working, cpu fan, powersupply fan, etc. I can also hear my hard disk turning, but doesn't seem to be working. Also there are no beeps, no lights on panel. I'm pretty sure my jumpers are well plugged. Also I checked my motherboard and my CPU for apparent marks of burn, but nothing, it's all clean.
One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive
Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions IDE SATA
the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have secure dust free connections and are not faulty or just replace them they might be faulty
if its a 40 pin flat ribbon type it will be the first to fail
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure dust free connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions
even something as small as an electrical fan and its lead can cause you problems
computers need all electrical power and data to continue through every working device and to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error
make sure your graphics card is securely seated with no dust built up or in the socket
if you remove your graphics check the socket to make sure its dust free
restart your computer then reinstall it this should activate found new hardware wizard
or you might try
you will need to connect to another monitor or your television to your computer with the vga lead monitor connection

if you can get an extended desktop your monitor is faulty
if you cant get an exended desktop

We were running Win XP when the original MB failed. ASUS replacement is acting essentially the same way - system will not complete the boot process, no video feed to monitor (so can't get to BIOS), fans and HDD spin up and power supply is fine, but we get no beeps.
I have the same problem. I turned off the computer the right way like always and the next day green light on the mobo, fans and hdd going, nothing on the monitor, tried changing the power supply, memory, video card and back up HD. what could it be? mobo or processor?
what is you OS, computer model? You've tried booting in safe mode for diagnostics, including device manager to see if you have any nasty check marks?
