  • geoff_30 May 14, 2010

    No.Actually my seven year old pushed it to change channel.he couldn't find remote.I have unplugged the unit.Tried to surf channels,get to menu,etc...Still nothing.

  • geoff_30 May 14, 2010

    That would be great.Thank you.

  • geoff_30 May 14, 2010

    It'a 5:30.Haven't heard anything back.Is there any hope?

  • geoff_30 May 15, 2010

    That would be great.Do you think this would be something I could pick up local,say like bestbuy etc?

  • geoff_30 May 15, 2010

    I checked out the parts site,I'm a little confused tho.It's talking about distorted picture and color.I don't have any of that.It' like a setting has been changed.I can hear the speakers humming,but no picture.I hooked up dvd player just for whatever to see if I could get anything that way and still nothing.I just find it odd that one push of a button and the tv is gone.

    O.k toshiba

    Was the reason you used the touch focus because the colors where misaligned ?

    The most standard problem with your model is the convergence circuit.

    That is what aligns the colors blue /green/red so they make one.

    The first thing the touch focus will do is activate that circuit to verify and correct any mis-alignment.

    So in case of a weakened convergence circuit: it may precipitate any fault that would have occurred anyway.

    That would be my first diagnostic.

    If you`ll give me a few hours, i`ll see if i can pull out a service manual and give you more detail info.

    Hi again geoff

    Was stuck in friday aft. traffic and ol lady wanted to shop.

    About your tv now;

    I couldn`t find the exact service manual for your set but it does`nt matter because i still think the convergence modules are the culprit.

    If you are interested and feel like doing this yourself i could give a couple of addresses that would supply everything you need along with instruction on how to do it.

    Parts and tools to do it would cost around 80$

    Good morning geoff

    These parts sell at specialized electronics parts stores,

    In any case the address i`m gonna leave you has kits with instructions on how it is done for your particular model.

    Also i will leave you a second address where you will find an inexpensive set of tools to remove and re-install those modules(recommended) if you don`t have those already.

    So here is the parts address;

    http://www.tvrepairkits.com/xcart/home.p...

    And the tools;

    http://www.electronix.com/catalog/advanc...

    Keep in mind that there is a 80% chance of success that it will repair your set.

    On the other hand it would cost about the same to have somebody give you an estimate for the repair.

    Hope this help Good luck

    What happens is that the most frequent signs of a convergence problem is what you saw on that site.

    Another result is the shutdown of the set(which they can`t show on that site) specially in toshiba and samsung sets.

    The touch focus could just as well be called auto convergence.

    Thats what brought me to that conclusion.

    But now you`re talking about a hum in the audio which makes me think that you may have some fuses or picofuses(mini soldered fuses) gone as well.

    I don`t know in your case but in many cases theses kits will also supply these picofuses.

    So what would need to be done now is to test and replace those fuses if blown.

    But you can be sure that these fuses blew for a reason and replacing them may just bring you the picture that you saw on that website.

    Welcome to the wonderful world of tv repair, where problems can often cause a chain reaction.

Why does my camera not capture any picture? Whichever mode I use, it does not capture any picture regardless of how many times I click the button.

Flash flicker is the camera trying to get enough light to focus, It occurs when you press the shutter release part of the way down.
Try the same thing outside, ensure you press the shutter real ease all the way down. If it still does not fire, switch the lens to manual focus (sliding switch on the side of the lens, move from A to M) If the camera shoot then, the camera is struggling to auto focus.

I push the button but it wont take a picture

Did you try it like it is said in the manual? press the button half till the camera is focused and then press the button completely down?
Don't expect the camera to shoot with the same speed as a camera with film did. Give it some time to focus and everything will be fine (I hope)
If not let me know.

Shutter button does nothing when pressed halfway, will not focus automatically. It doesn't make the beeping noise, no green box, nothing happens! I can press it all the way and take a picture, but t

Please check if yu did set the camera in AF mode continuous. In that mode, the camera is focusing on whatever is aimed at. Even when the shutter button is not pressed, allowing you to shoot without missing opportunities.
The mode where you see the camera focus when the button is pressed half way, is called single. This setting will conserve battery power.
Look in the manual under Switching between Focus Settings. I can't tell you war page that is for your camera, in mine it is page 100.
On the last pages in the book are all settings for each shooting mode.

For the first one, please list the model number and count the blinks. Also, can you please post each problem separately. It will get too confusing trying to address 3 sets with different but similar problems.
Thanks,
