The wav entered in control panel for recycle bin will not stay put. I change it and after saving a scheme, go back and it states ''none'' for recycle bin. I have saved, then deleted all schemes , nothing works. It'll play when I click the arrow but won't hold. Any suggestions? Running XP

Hi, the best thing to do at this point is perform a "System Restore." Try to remember the exact "Date before the problem occur, or once you start the System Restore, ("pick a date going back more than 5 days"), check the dates and see if any of the dates seem familiar. Pick the (closest date prior) to missing the "Recycle Bin" Type: in the "Start Search Window" from the start menu: system restore; scroll to find, and open. Follow all the instructions carefully, and most of all be "patient" the process can take a long time; you cannot do any type of work on the computer at all, after the restore start. Once the restore is completed, the computer will restart, do not use or even touch a "key" until the computer notify you take the system has been restored; follow all instruction afterward, if in the event it didn't not take the first time. "I hope it works out for you; if so rating the help will let me know if the problems fixed, or you need further assistance, thanks."

Do i need to put my Recycled bottles in a trash bag then in my Blue Recycle Bin? Or can i just throw the Bottles in the bin?

Do NOT put your recycleables in a trash bag. Put them straight into the bin. It saves you a bag and saves someone at the recycle plant from having to remove it and throw it away.

Windows Vista Ultimate: Recycle Bin

If you find that when your Recycle Bin does not refresh but shows the same icon, irrespective of whether it is empty or full, here are some trouble-shooting steps you can try. Hopefully, one of these 5, should help you. 1) Check if you have installed any Theme or an Icon Package, and see if uninstalling it makes the problem go away. if so then the problem is in the Theme or Package. Also try switching the theme to Windows Classic theme and them back to Vista Aero default. 2) Right-click Desktop > Personalize > Change desktop icons > Disable / Uncheck Recycle Bin. Then click Restore Defaults. Click OK. Reboot. Now using the same method Enable /Check Recycle Bin, then restore defaults. Click OK. Refresh Desktop. 3) In the 'Desktop Icons settings' Dialog Box, check on Recycle Bin.
Then click on the ‘Recycle Bin Empty’ icon.
Click on 'Change Icon' tab.
rom the new box which opens, select the icon that shows the 'Recycle Bin Full'.
Do the same for 'Recycle Bin Full' icon.
Change it to 'Recycle Bin Empty' icon.
Now click Apply.
Now check whether, when the Recycle Bin is full, the empty-icon show. And vice versa.
If it does, go back and again change back the icons, to what they should be, using the same procedure, mentioned above. 4) Use the Group Policy Object Editor.
Type gpedit.msc in Vista's Start Menu Search bar and hit enter.
User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Desktop > Remove Recycle Bin icon from desktop > Double click on it > Enable > Apply Reboot.
Next, follow the same above-mentioned steps. But this time instead of 'Enable' select 'Not Configured.
See if it helps. 5) Repair or Re-build the Icon Cache. For this the easiest way would be to download and use TuneUp Utilities or Stardocks Icon Packager. They are not freeware, but you can use the trial versions to get your job done.
