If you're talking about a external mouse that is connected to your laptops USB port, first thing that you can do here is to unplug and replug the mouse and if still not working connect the mouse to a different USB port and then restart your laptop.

If you already rebooted the computer, try to do a system restore on your computer, click on Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System restore and then restore the laptop back to the date when it was working fine before.

The mouse pad and the keyboard act like they are locked and we dont know how to fix it. we tried an externalmouse and it still didnt work.

Press FN on your keyboard and while pressing it go through all the keys on the keyboard you might have pressed a shortcut to lock the mouse and keyboard.

My cat walked on my keyboard and my laptop won't make sound even though it's not on mute. She pressed a button or something

Call HP and pray the PC is still under manufacture warranty. Tell them it will not start. ;) If under warranty they will have a tech come out to your house and fix it at no cost.

My cat jumped on my laptop and now the keyboard

Hi, I would suggest that you ask tech support assistance from Lenovo hotline to further assist you on this issue because this issue is what we call Customer Induce Damage(CID) and you'll be charge regarding this issue because your warranty doesnt include accidental damage like this one, but if you already purchase the Accidental Damage Plan (ADP) from Lenovo then they would fix your issue without any charge, so best thing to do if you dont have the ADP is to get it first. here's the number
US/Canada 1-800-426-7378,Australia 1-300-880-917. Hope it helps

Acer laptop keyboard & touchpad not working

If you can log in by pressing the f8 key in safe mode, then try the system restore. If it doesn't work, it could be very well be a hardware failure.

I don't know what to do

this also sounds mechanical. check between the keys for as much rubbish as you can, then clear it. if this doesnt solve your problem, then start to go from there. seriously, this doesnt sound like a foul up in the normal sense (software). more like simple dirt to me. check everywhere. suspect even the smallest piece of dirt.keyboards are pretty robust these days, but sometimes even the smallest of things can cause immense foul ups. if this does not work, let me know. there are somethings that can still be tried after that, but they are more difficult to do with a fouled up keyboard, believe me.
