Haier HLH406BB 40 in. LCD HDTV Logo

Power Issue There is definitely a power issue with this Haier LCD TV model. I purchased this television during December 2008. After limited usage and 10 months, the television quit working. The power indicator?s red light comes on, but never turns to green; no sound, no picture. The television was still under the 1-year warranty. I shipped back the television to Haier?s New Jersey warehouse. After almost 2 months, Harier did ship me a new replacement television. The replacement television lasted only 5 months before it died. Again, no picture, no sound. Both times, after plugging the television into the wall power socket, the red light indicator comes on, then goes out. The ?green? light never comes on. I will try to get the power issue fixed at a local repair shop. I own a smaller Haier LCD TV and it works perfectly.

Now,u plug in the tv u get a solid red standby power red LED light in the front of the LCD panel right? When u push the power button on the remote u hear a clicking sound?Only one clicking sound, not the power supply board problems. It the Tuner board problems. But u can make sure it the power board problems or not.By taking the tv aparts check the power board, that board where the a/c power cord goes into it.Look all around the power supply board check for these leakage capacitors, they alway bulges up it top or puff up it top.No bad leakage capacitors, then it not the power supply board problems.

Testimonial: "Thanks for your immediate reply. It could be an issue with the TV's tuner. At times, I did noticed the sound wasn't clear after turning on the TV. I had to turn the TV off, then turn it back on to get a clear sound. Now, the stand-by red light immediately clicks off when plugging into the wall socket. The television is now in a TV repair shop. What if I don't even get the red 'standby' LED light when plug into power, just the white LED light at the bottom center, could that be the Power board problem (although I did not see any bulging capacitor on the board)?

My Haier tv model LE55B1381 has an intermittent problem. It stops working i.e. power is ON but no sound or images. After an hour, it resumes working for a day then stops again.

Hi,

please remove all accessories from your tv and monitor it to see if it runs into it's glitches again. Please also remember if you purchase a new remote when this issue started happening or did you start using direct tv ? You can also run a power cycle on the tv if this issue occurs again.

Thank you.

Philips LCD TV power cycles on and off during power on sequence. TV will not power on.

This typically indicates a power supply issue. In order for the TV to protect itself, instead of staying on and causing over heat and potential fire, it shuts off. Contact Philips for possible warranty info.

2008 sanyo lcd tv DP26648 power turns on but no picture or sound

likely a mainboard or power supply capacitor issue.
if you have the soldering skills fix it, otherwise time to replace the TV.
If you can de-solder and solder in new capacitors make sure you are using high quality capacitors be very causious of capacitors purchased from auction sites.

No Video Or Sound - Stand By Light Flashes 5 Times

If the tv was made before December 2008, there is a capacitor settlement from a class action lawsuit by Samsung. Supposedly (at no charge) they will send a repairman to replace the capacitors.

My haier 42" HL42R will not turn on. It is plugged in and has power to the tv but will not turn on. I have tried remote and manuelly, but still will not turn on.

Most likely the set will need to be serviced. You either have a issue with the power supply or main board. A proper diagnoses will need to be done to be sure. You can try unplugging the TV for a while and trying it again. I doubt it works but it's worth a try

Haier tv hlt10 turns on and off

Unplug the set as this will eventually damage parts that are not bad right now---

Issue is in either the power supply or the microprocessor circuit and likely will require a shop visit to resolve.

Blue dots on LCD screen, Sony tv.

You probably need a new optic block. The part alone is approx. $900.00. Sony has had this issue with most of their rear projection LCD televisions. Sony was offering to either repair the tv or give you a substantial credit [$1100.00 or so] towards the purchase of a new Sony LCD flat screen but I believe this program ended in December of 2008. You may still be able to call Sony customer service and plead your case. Good luck!!

MODEL HLC 22 R TV/DVD COMBO

This is the best solution for your problem as a 40 year experience with wires etc. Go to the source of your cable signal connector . Open it and clean the terminals with emery paper , sand the end of the cable shiny clean from corrosion , get a new barrel connectors with gold terminals if possible lengthen the ends of the cable , insert and tighten good, use thick rg-16 or rg 40 cable with good insulation ends crimped professionally with a crimpier or buy ready made , not from dollar store. Get a gold plated professional splitter if you need one or two , it will cost about 15 or more each . Make the cable runs as short as possible, using the thick good cables. If needed get a signal magnifier. From radio shack or the source etc. Connect them good and tight . Ground the splitters . Problem solved , you will get crystal clear channel 2 to 7 including 3 and 4 . Isolate the TV cable from other cables and power wires.Switch input mode Vitally
