SOURCE: i have a Cyclone XHE model BTH 120-250(A) series

Code 11-Pressure switch fails to open or close after five minutes.

This unit will produce condensation--quite heavily at times. The outlet drain hose must be allowed
to drain. Exhaust Vent piping must also drain condensate. Code 11 error would imply that these
must be checked.

90% of the time this problem is related to installation issues with either the vent or drain.

Heater during ignition is making load banging sound out vent pipe threw roof from exaust what could be wrong

sounds as though it might possibly not be igniting first time , it is ignitiong the gas that is present but not staying lit, You should probably have it looked at / serviced. If you are in the UK it is usual to have a regular service to catch such things. A recommendation from friends for a good boiler technician might be worth taking advantage of .

Installation: Electrical Requirements

13Mb product manual is a big download ... electrical info page 13:
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/AO-Smith-Cyclone-gas-water-heater.pdf
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/AO-Smith-Cyclone-electrical-connection.pdf
Recommended both water heaters require dedicated single-phase 15 amp 120Volt line with correct polarity. This is 14 gauge wire and 15 amp breaker for each unit.
I would put both water heaters on surge protection and GFCI. Most water heaters are not protected from surge, and manual says line noise can affect operation of water heater.
Your local code would say if GFCI is required. Install GFCI breaker in main panel if required.
Install inline surge protector: Or add main breaker box protection.

If the igniter is not turning off, then that would explain early failure, and it would be caused by the control chipset

On A.O. Smith water heater model BTH 199 100 where is the heat sensor rod located ?

Parts list:
http://www.hotwater.com/lit/partslists/197728-004.pdf
Flame rod, flame sensor sits next to igniter inside combustion chamber. This can be cleaned with sandpaper. Do not touch with fingers. Purpose of flame rod is to detect whether ignition has caused actual, sustainable fire inside the combustion chamber.
If sensor is bad, or no ignition is detected after 2-3 attempts, then 'no ignition' error is given.
Bad gas control valve, bad-or-dirty flame rod-sensor, low gas pressure, misaligned rod, dirty combustion parts, etc

Igniter is not working

Try removing the igniter. (First turn the heater off) There is a heat sensor rod on the igniter. If it is blackened use fine sand paper or a scotch brite pad and clean it so it is shiney. reinstall the igniter (turn the heater back on) and try it. If that doesn't work the igniter may be defective and will require replacement. I have a smaller A.O. Smith water heater and that little trick has saved me three service calls. Good luck.

Says low igniter current

If it says low ignitor current the ignitor usually needs to be replaced. As the ignitor ages its current reduces because it is oxidizing. Eventually it will be detected by the control system that alerts you of the issue. If the control system were not designed to do this, soon it would not be able to ignite the gas. If this happened it could cause a dangerous condition such as a fire or explosion.
I hope this helps.
