How do i reset my ipod touch

If you are talking about resetting after your iPod Touch has hung, you need to press and hold the top and home buttons until the screen goes black. If the iPod Touch displays the "Slide to power off" message, ignore it and continue to hold down both buttons until the screen goes black.

Turn on the iPod Touch by pressing the top and home buttons together again just briefly. It will take a while for the iPod Touch to start up from this type of reset.

If you are looking to restore the iPod Touch to factory defaults, you need to start iTunes on your computer and plug your iPod Touch into your computer with the USB cable that came with it. Click on the iPod Touch from the list on the left side and press the "Restore" button.

Just an apple when startup not working

Here are some things to try:

Press and hold the top and the home button down until the iPod Touch turns-off then release the buttons. Now press and hold the top and home buttons again briefly to start the iPod Touch. This is supposed to do a reset on the iPod Touch.

Next thing to try is to put the iPod Touch into recovery mode and restore the iPod Touch to factory defaults.

This is covered very nicely in this eHow.com article:

http://www.ehow.com/how_5508348_force-ipod-touch-recovery-mode.html

If neither of these suggestions work, then I'm afraid that it's time to take the iPod Touch in for service.

Thanks for using FixYa and Happy New Year.

Apple iPod touch Not able to Switch ON

http://www.ziphone.org/

Use the Ziphone ipod touch and iphone jailbreak GUI to put the ipod in recovery mode. Then restore it using iTunes.

You don't have to jail break it.

THat happened to me once when I installed something on my ipod.

it kept on restarting, and i used ziphone recovery and started over.

Make sure to get 1.1.4 firmware. its the most recent update on ipod touch.
