Hi there, This is a fairly common problem and pretty easy to fix. I have made a video for you to check out. If you need parts for your Dyson DC07 have a look at vacuumspot. Please take a moment to give the video a bit of feedback or a thumbs up.

Canister doesn't rotate; debris blows back out.

Check for clogs. That could be the problem with the mess getting spread around and not being sucked up.

Here's a fix that could help you with your upright issue.

The handle will not click into the upright position-only stays in "vacuuming position". How do I fix it? Linda from KY

Go to www.dysonmedic.com scroll to bottom of page and click on "DC04 not positioning upright fix" for illustrated solution. The DC07 is similar. If this doesn't work, post a reply here and we'll see what else you might try. Good luck!

Have a look at the following link:

It is aimed at the DC04 BUT at the very end of the article, it says the DC07 suffers the same problem and the fix is very similar.

If the noise is rattly then it means the drive belt needs replacing, if your model has a protective brush on/off mode on the front plate where you would normally put your foot, it would have to be repaired officially by a repairer. Replacing a protective drive belt can only be done by Dyson repairers or those that repair Dysons.

the actuator in the switch is defective, you can replace just the switch. There are several places to get just the switch, just google "dyson dc07 parts" for places on where to get the switch.
