We have only had our tv for about 2 1/2 months. It was a display at the store. But it will act as if it has been turned off but the power light is on and if you try to use the remote the light will blink and you cant turn it off for a bout a minute unless you unplug it. If you keep it off for a little while like to cool off you can turn it on and watch it for a while the length of time varies. What do we do? Thanks for any help Patti

Local service repair man fixed my Soniq 42" Plasma TV with same problem for $180 Australian.
He said it was the start up / power up circuit board and lucky I didn't keep trying to use it or it could have damaged the secondary circuit board as well.
My mother's was doing the same thing (purchased 2008). Put up with it about 6 months and took it to a repair shop. Bottom line - the display panel has a flaw in and will cost more to replace than the tv cost. See about it now it yours is still under warranty.
With a problem like this, I would use the warranty for the TV.
It's possible a circuit board failure has occurred and the TV is automatically turning itself off to protect it from further damage. Is normally called " Protection Mode " for most TVs.
Being that it's 2 months old, it should be under warranty regardless. I would recommend contacting the store of where it was purchased and have them help you with the warranty issue.
ur tv problem is from the ad(analog to digital) or main board which host the rom that holds the manufactural programs.this rom program could only be alter by the manufacturer or an authurise personel. u can order for new ad board.
I had same problem. Tech's said the power was noisy. I cleaned up the power but the TV still did exactly as you describe. Problem will progressively get worse with longer bouts of flickering.
I was under warrenty and sent the TV back. After 3 months I am still waiting for a repalcement.
Funny to see this because this is exactly what is happening to my 32 inch TV and I was researching to see if some one else had this problem and right away I find this, I've had my set for over a year now, and I have no solution at this time, but I will continue to research this, I figured that Protron would blame the cable company, that's what company's with crappy products usually do. Blame someone else.
