Good day.
Your thermostat might be busted thats why you cant control the temperature. Also, check for the drain pan. if it is dry, then there might be some particles(I.e. soot, ice,) along the drain channel. Try to defrost the unit first and check for the drain pan. If water came out from it. restart your unit. if problem persisted, replace the thermostat. This shoul resolve the problem.

Response is highly appreciated.

GE Profile Brita Fridge. Have setting down as low as possible and crisper foods continue to freeze. How can I fix that?

You need an internal digital thermometer to see if 1 is the coldest or the hottest. If you turn it to 6 and the temperature remains the same, the thermostat is faulty.

If 1 is the warmest and it continues to freeze crisper foods like lettuce, you need a new thermostat. Your ideal temperature is between 3 and 4' Centigrade at the coldest part, usually above the bottom shelf.

Fridge always running. Refrigerator freezes food at lowest setting.

Here's the manual you need with the parts lists. http://www.hammerwall.com/Download_Manual/37232/ On the first page, it has "parts" numbers for the other manuals you may need that I'm sure you could also find online with a Google search.

Here is the website that carries the part: http://www.needapplianceparts.com/218673008.aspx You might be able to find the parts elsewhere online.

It's ether a bad thermister out thermostat or a damper stuck open I would guess.

My gsh25jsxjss fridge is too cold. the electronic settings do not change the temp in the fridge.... even if I put it on the warmest setting... food is freezing in the fridge area

HELLO,

Most times this is a bad cold control, but there are other things to check for. Make sure the condenser fan is working and the coils are not covered with dust. A separated heat exchanger ( small capillary tubing soldered to the large suction line ) can separate from one another and make the fridge run too long. - tape tubing back together. A poor working evaporator fan motor could also make the fridge run too long and freeze - replace the fan motor. An inefficient compressor or refrigeration system could make the fridge run too long and freeze - have a service tech check this out. A misaligned control settings, make sure the air damper and cold control have not been bumped and are out of normal settings. Stuck open air diffusers or air dampers are becoming more and more common for allowing too much air to be blown into the fresh food section and freezing things. On all frost free fridge's the freezer temp air is blown into the fresh food section, if you have "easy" to freeze items ( eggs, veggies in water, etc ) in front of or under where the freezer temp air comes out, they could freeze - store them in a different spot. Doors not closing properly making the fridge run too long is something else to check for.

As you know, the deflector directs the freezer air toward the front of the frig and the rear of the cold control, please do check that to confirm the deflector is okay or not....

Hope this will help in solving the problem......

Fridge area freezing foods, thermostate control at lowest setting what do we need to do

Hello and Welcome to FixYa!
The problem you are facing is due to one of the following reasons:
If the thermostat is at its maximum warmest temperature and still the things are freezing up, it shows that the thermostat could be faulty and needs to be serviced/replaced.
If the thermostat is not the bottle neck then there is a possibility of a leak in a sealed refrigerant system or cold air migration unit (In Side by Side models) or the worst due to the Air Damper.
Actually the bottle neck to the symptoms you are facing is a bit tedious to locate. Actually it requires a very detailed physical analysis of the above quoted components that might require the services of a qualified repair person.

Best of Luck,

Please do Rate the solution, If you feels this helps you,

Concerned.

Frigidaire side by side - fridge side temp too low

It sounds as though your thermostat is not cycling your compressor off causing it to run until the point of freezing. If you sit and listen, you will hear it hum. If it never stops humming, 9 times out of 10, the power outage shorted your thermostat.
