Roper top freezer ice maker out of sync? Too warm?

I have a Roper (RT21LMXKQ04) with ice maker which use to make perfect ice. Lately it appears to be heating too soon and melting the ice too much before the "arms" can sweep the cubes out of the tray. The "arms" swipe through slushy ice and begin to build-up like Popsicles until they have so much build up that they will no longer turn because they jam against the slots on the top of the tray. We are constantly clearing the build-up from the arms in order to generate a mediocre amount of ice, and what we do receive is "hollow" or "slivers" that are being scraped out of the tray. The ice maker is delivering the correct amount of water to the tray.

I gave it a little thought and had the idea that maybe the ice isn't freezing fast enough, so I bumped the temp down a few degrees and ice production is back to normal. Apparently, the temp wasn't quite right for the ice to thoroughly freeze before the collection cycle began. At least for now, I won't have to replace the ice maker :)

Roper Refrigerator, top freezer leaking water into refrigerator

Hi I reckon you gave either an ice block in the defrost drain system or a blockage caused by loose food bits. You can clear the ice block if you keep the fridge off for 24 hours leaving both doors open. If you have a small table fan to circulate warm room air you could speed up the process.

The second type of block with food bits may need you to open the internal rear panel of the fridge and push through a stiff wire to clear the blockage.
