While TV is on, simultaneously press and hold both the TV's Volume Down button and the remote's PP/Play button for 7 seconds.

SOURCE: replacement of Bulb PT-43LC14
Just get a bulb off ebay, make sure the listing shows that it includes instructions or ask the seller. Its and ez replacement with a philips.

hold the volume down on the TV and press and hold down the MUTE button on the remote control. Be sure to hold both buttons down at the same time and until the red light goes out.
This worked for me.

To reset the Lamp timer back to zero
simultaneously press the "down split channel" button on the bottom of the remote and the down volume on the TV for 5 seconds or more. You will get a message on the screen that the time has been reset to zero.
