Brushes not all the way in .if they dont fall into place easily you may need to pull the funny looking yellow ends on the roller brushes off and clean out hair ect.

Why does robot roomba 530 repeatedly stop and say to clean brushes

I think it's telling you to flip it over, open up the brush compartment, take the brushes out, remove everything wrapped around them, replace them and close it up. I suspect that your brushes are wrapped up with something.

Next open up the filter compartment, dump it into the trash, pop or slide out the filter and bang it into the trash can. Give it a quick rinse in the sink to wash off the fine dust still on the filter. Let it dry and insert it back into the filter compartment.

Roomba 530 makes a thumping noise every secondand stops with a message to clean he brushes. I have cleaned the brushes and filter but to no availe the thumping continues.

You also need to pull off the yellow bearings from the end of the brushes (one on the brush one and one on the rubber one) and remove hair from the axle there.

Telling to clean bruses and clicking noise

Hello Sara
if its under warranty, call iRobot, they will probably replace the cleaning head.
If not, you'll need to open and clean the gear box.
there are few manuals with images on how to do that here is one

Have fun and enjoy your Roomba

Roomba keeps saying "Clean Brushes"!!

Have you made sure the brushes aren't clogged with thread and hair, and that the brush bearings are still good?

1) remove the brush guard.
2) remove the brushes
3) remove any hair or debris using the cleaning tool

4) replace the Roombas brush bearings

5) replace brushed and brush guards

If this doesn't work then, try the following:
  1. Power off the Roomba.
  2. Remove the dirt bin.
  3. Place the robot upside down on a flat, padded surface.
  4. Check for any dust or dirt obstructing the Cliff Sensors (with Roomba upside down, the sensors are located in the four rectangular areas just inside the edge of the front bumper).
  5. Next, press the front bumper in to make sure it springs back.
  6. Make sure both yellow brush caps are installed correctly
  7. Make sure the main brush and the flapper brush each have a yellow bearing installed correctly.

Problems with roomba 530

before taking apart your Roomba read this!!! First to see if it is a defect or really the brushes, take the brusehs out and run roomba with out them. If you still hear the clicking/ thumping then try taking it apart or call roomba. But if the clicking/ thumping goes away when the brushes are out you're in luck! Take the brushes. The brushes have little yellow nubs... those come out. pull them out, and you will see a lot of hair waiting for you. clean all of the hair out ( tweezers are wonderful for this). Once they are cleaned out put the yellow nubs back on. Put your brushes back in and you're Roomba will be back to business in no time!!!
