Blower motor on toyostove laser 73

Corosion build-up

You title blower motor Laser 73, then list corrosion build up? These heaters contrary to what others may say, need to be cleaned thoroughly every 3 years. They need maintenance just like a car only not as often. You need to find a qualified heater mechanic to do this and it should also be de-acidified as sulfur in the fuel creates this. If it is the blower motor, then I need more specifics. Is it just making noise, not running at all, or just running 24 7?

Toyostove Laser 73 has EE8 code after we had an electrical outage. The blower fan is not stuck. Could the loss of power damage the fan motorr? Where do we purchase a new fan motor?

Probably wasn't so much the loss of electric power, as it was perhaps, a surge when it came back on that could have damaged the fan motor
.
You should be able purchase a new fan motor from the dealer your bought the heater from. Or if that's not an option, go to http://www.rinnai.us/ and search for a authorized dealer close to you. That way, you can be sure you're getting an OEM part.

Hope this helps resolve your problem.

It saying ee8 blower on da laser 73

EE-8 is for a blower motor malfunction. It could be due to carbon build up on the exhaust fan blades. Remove the front cover of the heater. Now locate the blower. There is a black rubber boot that goes from the bottom of the heater to the blower. Remove that boot. Use your finger or a pencil or whatever to reach in the hole and turn the fan blades. You may here a crunching sound from the carbon breaking up. Turn it until it frees up. If it turned freely to start with, you probably need a new blower motor. If it was hard to turn and you free it up, you will probably be OK.Let me know what you find. I have a used blower for a Laser 72 that should work for your Laser 73.

It saying ee8 blower

EE8 is for blower motor malfunction. It could be the motor, bearings or the speed sensor.First I would either remove the exhaust pipe from the back of the heater or take the front cover off of the heater and remove the black rubber boot from the fan (easiest). Then use a pencil or screwdriver or something similar to reach into the fan and try to turn it. Carbon builds up on the exhaust fan over time and may cause the fan to stick. Turning may break the carbon loose and free up the fan. If that doesn't get it, you are probably going to need a new blower motor.

Error reading ee8

EE 8 is for a blower motor problem. It could be the sensor that checks the blower speed or it could be the blower not running. If the blower is running, the sensor is bad and you will need a new blower. If it isn't running then you may be able to fix it. Sometimes on the Laser 73, soot and carbon will build up on the exhaust fan blades. Remove the fresh air hose, that is the rubber on the back, and look for the fan blades. If you can see them turn the heater on and see if they are turning. If not turn the heater off and try to turn them with your finger. If you hear a noise like something rubbing when you turn it or feel some resistance, keep turning it until the noise stops or it frees up. Now turn it on again and see if the fan runs. If you don't have anywhere local to get parts I can get them for you. You can contact me at nitensheaterservice@earthlink.net I may also have a used blower that will work.

Toyo laser 73 error code EE8. What does that mean?

All error codes are explained on the lower left side of the heater. The EE8 message is for the combustion blower motor. If your stove has been unused for the summer you may get away with just spinning the blower wheel by hand to free it up. If this does not work you are in for a new motor or assembly. Either way you need to clean the blower and heat exchanger.

My laser 73 heater has an error of ee8

Hello
An ee8 message refers to the combustion Blower motor
Unplug unit
Take off front cover
There is a rubber hose from blower case to the base of the unit
Take it off carefuly
Use your finger or a Pencil to try to move the intake fan
Resemble unit
If this doesn't work you may have to replace Blower motor or just clean it up.
If you can't figure it out gimmie a call Total Toyo (907) 488-9179

Dumb Question

Mike,

NO, Rinnai and Toyotomi (Laser) are not the same. A simple Google search would make that clear. Now, a new blower motor with case for a Laser 73 comes complete. Fans, motor and gasket all put together, ready to plug in and go.

You would be better off contacting a local dealer for your parts. NO authorized Toyotomi dealer is supposed to sell parts over the internet. A Toyotomi dealership is a valved item. It is meant to help sell and service the Toyotomi product in the dealers local area. It is a great help for someone to be able to call his local dealer and have that guy come right over and help you out.

EE 8 code on TR-73 toyostove!

If you can't get rid of the EE8 message and you think the motor is really turning it may be turning too slow. This will be caused by corrosion that has dripped down into the blower and gotten on the Rev sensor. The solution is to change the motor. If you are not handy with tools you may have to just change the whole blower. The motor is around $150, the whole blower is $350. The corrosion may have happened over the summer and fall.Heating and cooling causes condensation and the water drips down into the blower.

There are 2 fuses on the mother board. You can go to the Toyotomi website download the Owners Manual and look at 49 and 50 in the parts list and picture.
