Yes, you can! These photos are highly possible to be recovered as long as you take the right steps before it is too late.

First things first - Stop using the camera to take more photos immediately! Then connect the device where your lost images located to a PC which has installed photo recovery software. If you are running Mac, go to Mac photo recovery software.

Remember - DO NOT write anything back untill you recover the photos safely. Once the photos are overwritten, it is impossible to recover. Best regards.

Once you accidentally erased the pictures from camera memory, it is just like clearing the recycle bin or Trash of your computer. But that doesn't mean you have lost the files permanently as you can rely on recovery software to get them back if possible.
As to recover deleted pictures, recommend you have a try of Wondershare Photo Recovery, a program which can recover lost pictures, videos can music with both Windows and Mac version, you can free download the program from the sites,

(For Windows Users)
http://www.wondershare.com/pro/photo-recovery.html
(For Mac OS Users)
http://www.wondershare.com/pro/mac-photo-recovery.html

Step-to-Step Instruction:

1. Download and install the trial version on your computer, then connect your camera memory card to the computer (I assume you are using Windows). Start Wondershare Photo Recovery and select the drive letter that assigned to camera memory card.
2. Then choose the file type (all, photo, video, music) click "Star Scan".
3. Now the scanning process will start automatically to look for the deleted items. You will then get a list of all recoverable ones.
4. Preview the photos. If your deleted ones are found, then you need pay to get the activation code. And click "Recover".

Tips:
1. Take the free trial version before you buy.
2. Before your deleted items are recovered, do not take more photos or videos.

I hope you good luck, Merry Christmas!

Yes, it is absolutely possible for you to restore your erased pictures as long as they are not overwritten yet. So, from now on, you'd better immediately stop using this camera in case that any newly taken photos will overwrite your erased pictures and make them gone forever.
And then, in order to save these photos back, you'd better select a proper photo recovery freeware for your camera, such as
Recuva
http://www.piriform.com/recuva
iCare Data Recovery Free
http://www.icare-recovery.com/data-recovery-free.html
Or 4Card Recovery
http://www.4cardrecovery.com/
All of them are really free and can work much more efficiently than some paid ones.
Note: In the future, I hope you can always be careful about your data and always back up all important data.

PowerShot A570 IS- accidently erased pictures and video by resetting settings to default. Want them back, haven't taken pictures or video since I made the mistake. Thanks!

If you are using a memory card, take no more pics until you've recovered the photos, take the card out of the camera. This is to reduce the chance of you overwriting some of your "lost" photos. There are many good freeware photo recovery software options that are available to help you recover your photos. This blog article reviews and outlines several of the better ones.

My camera says my memory card is locked but the button on the side is not locked how do i retrieve my pictures i have a canon powershot a480

Issue: [Memory card locked] message appears on the screen.
Solution: Change the memory card lock switch to the normal setting

The SD card has a lock switch to prevent existing data from being erased. To record images or movies this switch must be in the normal (non lock) position. Different brands of SD memory cards may identify this switch differently. Regardless the procedure should be the same. Please remove the card from the camera and ensure that the switch is not in the locked position. sdcardlocked.jpg
sdcardunlocked.jpg ---
You should be able to retrieve photos, but not writing or erasing if the switch is switched to write protect.

If it's not functioning correctly, the camera may need service at Canonusa.com.

Accidentally erased all images is there any way of retrieving them?

There are several web sites that can provide this information. Here is an example. Some have free trial software, or you can pay a nominal fee to buy a license. Depending on how important the pictures are, remember that generally you get what you pay for. ;-)

All my pictures erased from the card without using the erase function . When I tried to look at my pictures, the message no images appeared.

You may have erased the photos by mistake. Try reading the memory card with your pc using a usb card reader to see if the images are possibly still there. Or you can go to this link (below) and use the free trial software to recover your photos.
