Question about Epson Stylus Photo RX620 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Inability to save scanned photos other than in the default ...My Pictures

I use the Epson Stylus Photo Rx620 all in one printer to scan. When I try to place the photos in a folder of my choice. all be it in ...My pictures, I cannot do it other than by dragging and dropping it. The Epson support team have not been able to solve this. I believe there is an error in the machine. My friends of the computer club I belong to can make a folder in other locations.
Can you help?
Thanks

    Hi mewms
Many thanks. It is certainly simpler but I need your help to make my own folder in Pictures. When I click on to Browse and go on to Make new folder, I can pake a folder but it does not show on the selection screen when I click on to the small black arrow.I suppose my path is not clear. Help will be appreciated.
    Thanks.

Have you tried just using the scanner and camera wizard?

  1. Start
  2. Programs
  3. Accessories
  4. Scanner and Camera Wizard

You may have to open the scanner and camera program and click on the help menu search for folder options.

The problem is with my scanner, it is a LIDE by canon and not recognized by the wizard. and my scanned items by default go into a folder by date.

It seems Kodak and Microsoft settled a court battle because Kodak didn't like the way XP handled pictures, limiting the use of Kodak software scanner and camera wizard.

Microsoft wants people to use Picture-It ,personnaly I use Picasa 2, and Kodak wanted the software they developed for the OS to be fully integrated and functional as a stand alone option.

Looks like no one wins but LINUX

Try creating a new user in window.
Leave the user with administrator priviledges.
    Log out.
Log in as the new user you just created and check if the software save in other folders.

Where can Iget drivers / software to use my RX620

Windows 7 will install its own driver for your Epson printer. If you have connected the USB cable, disconnect it for now.

With your computer on, power on your printer. Now plug in the USB cable. Win7 will automatically install a driver for your printer.

The Win7 compatible TWAIN driver and Epson Scan Utility software can be download from Epson support:

Be sure to choose the file(s) for your Win7 version.

Hi,

try to re open again your machine and look very carefully inside remember even how small the paper it will still cause for a paper jam.

Is there anyway I can scan with no ink Epson photo RX620

I'm not certain that I can help, but I am familiar with the Epson does things with their printers and all-in-ones. The thing is, printers are pretty cheap to buy. Where these companies make lotsa bucks is in the aftermarket products, which in this case is printer ink. Therefore, these printers are designed to now allow you to do much of anything with all the ink cartridges installed. I can certainly understand your frustration, and if I am wrong about this, I would like someone who considers themselves an "expert" to tell me so. Good luck, and my advice would be, next time don't buy an Epson. They are the worst company for high-priced ink, and if you use anything except Epson brand ink, you void the warranty. Sucks!

Rx 620 slow to print

Epson's RX620 scans and prints photos at high quality. Text, however, was slow to print and not that good.
it_portal_pic_41791_t.jpg Epson's multifunction devices fall into two categories: general-purpose models that are designed for home or small office use, and photo-oriented devices such as this, aimed more at the enthusiastic amateur snapper.
Because it's a photography-centred device, the RX620 uses dye inks. On photo paper, these produce more vibrant colours than pigment-based inks, and a true gloss finish, but on plain paper produce inferior, less vivid results.
The Stylus Photo RX620 is quite large, and looks dated - but it's not short of modern photo-printing features. Its built-in memory card reader is compatible with seven commonly used digital memory formats, including xD and SmartMedia. Photographers using film will appreciate the scanner, with its high optical resolution and transparency backlight.
On plain paper the RX620's text printing showed bandingand rough outlines on default settings. Our five-page black-and-white text document took two and a half minutes to print. Increasing quality settings made it even slower.
We tried realigning the print heads to improve print quality. The RX620's manual process involves choosing the best-aligned examples from four rows of 15 patterns. This takes good eyesight, and it can be hard to choose between similar-looking options. We needn't have bothered - text remained unchanged.
Photo printing was far better. The RX620 produced some of the best prints we've seen from a multifunction device, but only at its highest quality - and slow - setting. Our A4 test picture took 15 minutes 12 seconds to appear.
The RX620's scanner is excellent, previewing an A4 sheet in six seconds and scanning a 6x4in photo at 600 dots per inch (dpi) in just 14.5 seconds. Negative scan times were reasonable, with a single frame scanned at 2,400dpi in 1 minute 40 seconds.
The RX620 can perform many advanced functions without being attached to a computer, and its colour screen has a clear menu system. Prints can be made directly from memory cards, photo prints or even film. There are four document copying settings, but results using the default Text quality are adequate for most office purposes.
The RX620 isn't a brilliant multifunction device. It does many things well, but its printer is too slow, and simply not good enough on plain paper.

Cd-rom installtion lost

Hello,
You can download the printer driver from this link. There are a list of downloads on that page. Scroll down to Printer Driver 5.5aa and download the file. This is the printer driver. Also, download the Twain Driver and Scan Utility v2.65 for the scanning drivers.

Hope this helps,

Error message

Hi-

Its the operating system on the computer since it won't accept this types of images in your computer. Try saving the scanned document on a different folder/ or in your desktop. If everything fails, reformat your computer.

Hope this helps

Epson has software called "Epson smart panel" and you can select scan from the list of operations.
Turn your scanner on, (windows OS) click on "start" then click on "all programs", look for epson smart panel in programs list, click and let panel load, then select scan.
It will take some time for the scanner to warm and scan, so be patient, after it is scanned your options are to print, or save. If you save, be sure you know where its filed or "tell" it where to save, I recommend creating a new folder before in "your pictures" titled "scans" . Usually after you do this, it will save it there by default.
