Question about NetGear WGT624 Wireless Router

Wireless Activity at "0"

I have read and followed Caesars recomendations with my netgear wgt624, but now I am stuck! I am receiving a 0 in my activity for received packets. Help!! I have excellent strength and 54.0 mbps for speed, but I can not get on the internet. What do I need to do? I have an HP with windows xp.

Have you tried changing the wireless channel of the router?

I am installing a new printer and it is asking me for the wgp passphrase....will it be wgps606? I have a netgear super G wireless Router WGT624


The network passphrase/encryption key is in the Netgear wireless settings.
These settings eg. SSID and encryption key is used to configure the wireless card in the printer or computer so it can connect to the wireless router.

Things You'll Need:
  • Ethernet cable
  • Cable or DSL modem
  • WGT624 Installation CD
  1. 1 Plug the Netgear WGT624's AC adapter into a wall outlet. Plug an Ethernet cable into the yellow Ethernet port on the back of the Netgear router. Attach the other end of the cable to the Ethernet port on the back of your modem.
  2. 2 Insert the installation CD that was included with the Netgear WGT624 into your computer's disc drive. Click the language option you want to use and then click "Setup."
  3. 3 Follow the setup wizard's onscreen instructions and then click "Finish." The wizard will automatically detect your Internet settings. Open a web browser and navigate to "http://192.168.1.1."
  4. 4 Type "admin" in the Netgear's "User Name" text box and then enter "Password" in the text box labeled "Password." Click "OK."
  5. 5 Click "Yes" and wait for the latest firmware upgrade to install. Double-click the upgrade file and follow the onscreen instructions to install the upgrade.
  6. 6 Click the "Wireless Settings" link if you want to password protect your wireless network. Click the "WEP" radio button and then type in the password you want to use for your network in the "Passphrase" text box.
  7. 7 Click "Apply" and then close the web browser.

No. This is referring to the free space on the CD itself. As this is a commercially stamped CD-ROM it is gonna report 0 bytes free as you are unable to add more data to the CD. The driver on the CD should install properly.

Help with connecting to wireless network


right now i am using someone elses computer while i am trying to fix mine. I am using a wireless card. All signals are good and everything shows connected but when it shows the sent and received activity there is a number for the sent activity and a 0 for my received activity what is causing this.
