Compressor continues to run but does not fill / not generate pressure?
usually because the solenoid valve as the opening discharge pressure, the valve is not open, is also known as loading position, so the compressor runing but does not generate pressure.

Hi there, several reason can be consider, check the belt tension slipway of belt can cause lost compression, but if belt is good, mainly lost compression causes of worn out compression ring,or the discharge valve is not functioning the air is flowing back.try to disconnect the belt, rotate the pulley manually you can feel at the suction side if air is sucking on suction side.if air is not entering in the suction side.replace piston ring.have a nice day dont frget to fix my rate thanks a lot.

My air compressor doesn't seem to want to shut off. how do i know i have it set correct

turn pressure regulator all the way to the left, therefore requiring the least amount of air pressure(psi) in the tank so it will shut off at its minimum. If it still continues to run, its probably a bad regulator pressure switch and your going to need a new one. Good Luck

Ac was running when driving to the store, stopped to gas car then on the way out turned on ac no air coming out and the ac light does not turn on. i checked the fuses all are working but no power running...

Most likely the AC compressor clutch isn't engaged. This happens when the refrigerant pressure switch doesn't detect pressure in the coolant lines. The cause is usually a refrigerant leak.

This way the AC compressor is protected from running dry and possible damage.

Let your local repairshop check AC line pressure - if no pressure, look for the leak first then refill with fresh refrigerant.

I have a Craftsman compressor Model # 919-15292 2. The compressor stopped building pressure because air was continually being released through the unloader valve. I have replaced the unloader valve,...

you must have wired the new pressure switch incorrectly .when the pressure switch opens it will release the head pressure so your compressor must be running with the pressure switch contacts open should be 4 connections 2 marked motor which is from your compressor and 2 marked line which is your power coming in

My compressor will not go over 20 psi i have a craftsman 921 4 gal 125 psi compressor and it will not build past 20 psi i do not know how to get to the pistons and stuff what do i do?

The problem with compressors not building pressure is usually a bad pressure switch or bad regulator. Does the motor shut off at 20psi or does it continue running and not build pressure? If the motor continues to run with no increase in pressure, the you should go over the machine looking for air leaks from your regulator back all the way to the motor. Any air leak while the compressor is running can cause the pressure to "peak" way before the intended shutoff that it is regulated to.

Stopped cooling

Start from the compressor, if it is running and if so is not cooling due to
1. failure of gas pressure inside the system- refill gas.
2.failure of the compresor., pumping pressure is down.
If speed of compressor motor is low check on the capacitor. if not and the pressure is down the compressor may need overhauling or replacement

Compressor continues to run but doesn't refill so no pressure

Check if the compression relief valve fails to close. This is often a part of the pressure switch. It bleeds the cylinder head pressure so the motor can start it without load.

Second thing to check is the check valve which is OFTEN where the pipe from the compressor goes into the tank. These can get debris under the seat and no pressure will result.

Compressor not building pressure and continues to run

Unplug it and listen for air leak. What pressure does the manual tell you it should run to? The safety release could be bleeding air, listen for that, with it off. Make sure it is designed for more than 60 PSI by manufacture.

Dewalt d55141 Builds only 45psi

Check the unloading valve. Accumulation of dirt might be preventing the valve to fully close, by-passing a portion of the compressed air.

Compressor will not refill itself with air during use

IT SOUNDS LIKE THE PRESSURE SWITCH ISNT WORKING CORRECTLY. IT SHOULD CUT IT OFF AT DESIRED PRESSURE AND RESTART IT AT CUT IN PRESSURE. YOUR BOG DOWN PROBLEM ON RESTART IS PROBABLY DROPCORD TOO SMALL OR THE COMPRESSOR IS NOT UNLOADING WHEN IT SHUTS OFF WHICH IS ALSO CONTROLLED BY THE PRESSURE SWITCH. WHEN YOUR COMPRESSOR SHUTS DOWN YOU SHOULD HEAR A HISS FOR A FEW SECONDS. THE SWITCH IS DRAINING THE AIR FROM THE TOP OF THE PISTON SO IT DOESNT START UNDER A LOAD THE NEXT TIME. HOPE THIS HELPS. The compressor relief valve keeps popping, compressor runs

What pressure is it popping off at? You might have to adjust the pressure switch to a lower setting.
