Replacing drives on Vinpower CD Duplicator

The top drive is no good on my old VP-2100 Duplicator.
There's no warranty or service contract.
It will not read or burn discs, and is noisy.
Can I swap in a replacement compatible drives ?

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

I am trying to replace the optical drives, but cannot figure how they slide out. Cannot get the front cover off, and it appears they do not have clearance to be removed from the rear. Mehod for this?

Most PC's are the same. The front cover is removable. Most have taps and some swing once the tabs are released. See photos.

The dvd in almost all cases removes from the front. Start the removal by either removing the screws or releasing the tab Slid the DVD out s little to facilitate the cable removal.

Hope this helps?

Job Error Code:68 (VinPower DIgital Unit)

Error Code 68

System error code 68 means "The name limit for the local computer network adapter card was exceeded." This error code may also display as "ERROR_TOO_MANY_NAMES" or as the value 0x44.

I don't know what this has to do with using lightscribe and burning the CD's but perhaps your running this over a network?

Good information here and his solution near the end of the article:

Target drive not ready

The burning drives are not recognizing the blank media.Try using all of the duplicator bays by burning to another drive bay. If all other drives burn fine then the one drive may need to be replaced.Try a different blank CD or using a different brand. The most common fault for this message is a bad blank disk. Finally clean the drive bays by using compressed air to blow any dust out of the system.

My produplicator will not display the lcd screen

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions IDE,SATA

the leads from your "((motherboard to your hard drive))" make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electric extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error If your computer came with a motherboard disc the drivers could be on it or you might have a dirty graphics card remove the graphics card and clean the socket

hope this helps

I have a Pioneer CD/DVD Duplicator 8 drives. Recently no matter what disc I put in as the master. It tells me I have a mad Master Disc. Obviously all the media can't be bad. When this messgae pops...

The 3rd drive is the master now. If you want to change back to top drive, go to #8 "select source" and use up/down key change to " drive 1 " and save. for more detail, please read the user manual page 21 and 22.

For VPD system,if the top drive defected, the system should auto assign 2nd drive as source, but your system pick up 3rd drive as source drive, I suggest you check drive 1 and 2 before make copy.

DUPLICATOR

Hi there check the source drive by placing a cd in the draw close n draw wait 2 seconds open and see if the cd has rotated. If not then the drive is faulty. If so you may still have a faulty source drive check by placing audio cd in there if sound great if not Faulty.

Thanks J

Vinpower 1 to 4 not seeing 4th drive

I would make sure all the cables are secure and possibly reconnect them to ensure a good fit. Do all the drives show up in the BIOS or Disk Manager? If not and they are all connected, it may be defective. Also check power connections, does the light on the drive work at all?
