SOURCE: compressor shuts off before reaching max pressure

Yes,but if the max is 125 you don't want to increase it above 110 and set off the pressure relief valve.

SOURCE: Craftsman air compressor 1 HP 12 gal 125 psi

this is probably an "oilless" compressor, it has "piston" with a thin ring of leatherlike material acting as a piston ring, the "cylinder" is an aluminum sleeve - what usually happens is the cylinder gets scratched from dirt or just wear or the leather ring deteriorates, that's why it will go only so far - the only fix for this is to replace the cylinder and the piston

SOURCE: what kind of oil do i need for a craftman 1 hp 3

For warm climate, use 30wt non detergent oil (lowest price $3). Med priced oil ($5), use compessor oil sold at Lowes or any major center store including Wal Mart. Compressor oil is special blend for higher temperature range (continuous use). High price oil, synthetic compressor oil works for heavy duty use under severe conditions (also sold at major lumber centers, cost about $8~18).
For lite duty, any oil that you have handy will work fine (check oil before every use). Good luck

How do you fit a new drive belt to a rockworth compressor because there doesn't seem to be ant adjustment

if this is a small compressor say 2 hp you leave everything alone make sure you have the right size belt and stretch it on like a rubber band.. The belt will be quite tight but thats the way they come. If you are concerned that the new belt is too tight or too loose mark the position of you motor with a felt pen remove the belt and move the motor forwards or backwards a small amount in line with your marks, then refit the belt. The main thing is that the motor shaft stays parrallel or close to it with the drive shaft of your pump.

T30 model 242 Safety relief valve pops off at 50-60 lbs pressure. Put on a new one and still the same problem. Don't know what to look for next. Normal cut out is at 150-175. Thanks

From want you are describing sounds like the high pressure valves are leaking in the HP Head. there are 2 safeties on this unit . If the safety that's lifting is between the low and high pressure cylinders it's hp valves leaking. If the tank safety is lifting at 50-60 psi It should be replaced. It is a 200 psi safety.

Not pumping up to capacity, motor and compressor working fine,

If your pump is shutting off before it reaches it's max psi. then you need to adjust you switch. Under the black case there are two adjustment screws. One is the high\low adjustment, the other is high pressure cut off.
The first will change when the pump turns on and off for your low psi setting and the high setting simultaneously.
The second will allow you to raise or lower just the high setting. There should be a diagram under the black cap to show which is which. Adjust the high side only and just a 1\4 turn then run the compressor and see if that takes care of the high setting.
