Loose picture and sound

Just started to loose picture and sound for 15 or 20 seconds evey minute or so. If I leave the tv on it continues to do this over and over.

Hi, i think there is a loose or bad solder. try to inspect the power board for loose solder or in the area of the inverter board, resoldering some capacitors may electrecute you . leave the set unplugged for an hour before resoldering to allow discharging. you may replace some capacitors that seems slightly become fat..

The dreaded loose connection syndrome, this could be easy or hard to trace, only solusion is checking circuit boards for bad connections , it may be also capacitors in power supply neading replaced, not a novice repair

My 31GT740 tv's picture is taking up to 5 minutes to come on...


There is possibly a loose solder joint in the horizontal drive circuit. There is a little coupling coil just before the horizontal output that will get loose. This should not be real expensive to have repaired.

well tuners are being made smaller (and there is more cold solder in some points due to heat) so i would look up a new tuner for that tv...and if you know how to solder ,do it yourself it will be cheaper

My tv blinks from black screen to picture


You might have loose conections on the horizontal driver or output circuit,do not use it like that or it will go dead completely and is going to cost a lot more.If the set is older than 5 years it might have loose conections in the power supply too.Call someone qualified for an estimate.
