I have a 1998 Ford Explorer. The door lock on the driver side will not unlock the doors as it use too. I can unlock the doors from passenger side some times, but not all the time. I just had a new door...

First I suggest check and re-check wires and harnesses connections at/from door lock switches at/from drivers side, some loss or harnesses connections sometimes make this wrong.

If, before this replacement your locks system was working fine, a bad installation could damage this and other components. This could be the answer at intermitent keyless work, or your secuirty entry module is advice go to bad. There isn't way to test this, try re-sunchronized the keys according with your Owners Manual procedure o just will reprogramming with the dealer tools.

Hope this helps.

How do i get my entrey code for the doors

Hi Joe:
You can use the keyless entry keypad to Lock or unlock the doors without using a key.
Open the liftgate window. Activate or deactivate the autolock feature.

This code is located on the owner's wallet card in the glove box, is available from your authorized dealer via scan code or is marked on the computer module.

Computer Module location
1995 thru 2001 is located in the jack storage compartment in the rear of your Explorer. First remove the panel to the jack storage compartment. Towards the front of this area you should see a metal box this is your auto-lock module (way up front next to your rear left passenger seat - Image 01). On the back side of this is your 5 digit code factory preset code (Image 02). It is hard to get to. To see it you will have to loosen, pull, use a flashlight or a mirror but it can be done.

My 2004 v6 ford explorer won't start new batery and new starter no luck wont even click ?

Did you check the start relay for voltage? Ohms reading?

If I remember correctly the circuit goes like this:
Key turns ignition switch which puts voltage to the start relay which engages the solenoid.
So if it isn't even clicking and your headlights seem to be working fine then it is either the ignition switch or the start solenoid coil.
On older Fords the start solenoid used to be remote mounted on a fender. I heard newer Ford vehicles had it integrated with the starter like GM does.
A quick visual inspection will tell you which and where you need to look.
You might check if there is a fuse for that as well.

Need keyless entry code for a 04 an 99 ford explorer

On your 99 model the module is located behind the left quarter trim panel,mid-way.You maybe able to see it by removing the speaker cover or the cupholder on top. The module will have a sticker with a 5 digit code.
On the 04 the model is behind the right quarter trim panel toward the front about even with the right rear door stricker.
