What is the operating system of your computer? Do you have documents stuck in the queue? Check status of print spooler by clicking Windows logo Start menu > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services. A new window pops up. Scroll down the items and look for print spooler. What OS are you running? Did you install the full Epson software before you connected the printer to the computer? Is the Epson Status Monitor running on the computer?

If you didn't install the full software or installed a generic Windows driver, uninstall the printer. Then disconnect the data cable. Reboot the computer and go to http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@1326618163.1304563464@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccfkadfdhhmeimgcfngcfkmdhjidfmh.0&cookies=no&oid=58606&prodoid=56291067&infoType=Downloads&platform=All . Download and install the appropriate file from the section marked Drivers and Utilities Combo Package.

If you have a Windows OS, if the Epson Status Monitor is running, the icon for it should be present in the lower right hand corner of the screen (status/Notification area). In Windows 7, it may not be immediately visible, click on the double arrow symbol. Then double-click on the Epson Status Monitor icon and the status window should appear with the ink level indicators in the bottom half of the window.

For a Mac OS, open the Applications folder, then select Epson Printer Utility. Select your printer and click OK. Then select the Epson Status Monitor to get the ink level window.

I hope this helps.

(this is generally faster than using the No Ink spot inside the printer. However the ink levels are approximate.)

It could be the Print Spooler service on your computer. Make sure the Printer Spooler status is Enabled/Started. Refer to this article on How to Restart or Reset the Print Spooler in Windows. Before trying to print a test page, make sure there are no print jobs stuck in the print queue. Hope this help. Thanks.

CHECK TONER MC

Hello

This means your ink level is low but you can confirm this by doing the following;

.The Lexmark C500n uses powdered ink, called toner, like other laser printers. The printer creates a magnetic charge on the paper as it passes through the machine, forming text and images on the page. The printer then applies pressure and heat to the paper, fusing the powdered ink to the page so it will not smudge or run. At any time, you can check the amount of ink left in the printer's toner cartridge by printing a status page. This page will also show a tally of the number of pages printed by the machine, among other information.

Turn on the printer and let it warm up. Ensure the light next to "Ready" illuminates.

Press the "Go" button, or the button with the icon of the hand pressing a button. Use the arrow button on the printer's control panel to highlight "Test Menu," then press the button with the check mark.

Press the arrow button until you highlight "Status Page" on the printer's display panel. Wait as the printer generates a status page.

Retrieve the status page from the printer's output tray.

By doing this you will know the level of your toner.

How to reset the ink level of my hp officejet 6500

Checking ink levelsUse one of the following methods to check the ink levels. Method one: Check the ink levels from the HP All-in-One The ink level is displayed on the main screen of the control panel display. Locate the two icons that represent the print cartridges. The icon on the left is for the color cartridge and the icon on the right is for the black cartridge.
  • The exclamation mark (! ) symbol indicates a low ink level.
  • The question mark (? ) symbol indicates the product cannot determine the status of the print cartridge. This might be because the cartridge is refilled.

I have a message showing bk tank - code

Its detecting an incorrect ink tank.

The printer is not happy with one of your tanks. Make sure you have PB inks if it is a PG printer.

More probably the job you are printing requires the other black ink tank. Very important to make sure your status monitor is installed correctly, make sure when you send a job that it displays the ink tank levels and not question marks. You should be able to find out roughly how much ink is left through the driver (status monitor) and also what type of black is installed. If you cant, you have not got the 'Status Monitor' installed.

Just reloaded both printer inks. Does not show full on the ink status and when you try to print it just shows spooling but never prints. On the screen on the printer it shows full color but little black.

where did you see the ink status? On you rcomputer while pritning to an apllication? If yes dont worry about that its not that accurate., You may see the correct details about ink status if you launch your home center software and you will see there your ink status just click the help icon(?)., and also you can see ink status in your 5300 printer right? Press menu and scroll down and look for the ink status.,

I also encountered that same problem so dont owrry about that., or may be you can download also the latest firmware of your printer at
