Could be defective P board or A board. P board part # LSEP1279ANHB cost approx $150 A board part # TXN/A1EQUUS, cost approx $250.
The parts reference: Andrews electronics, 800 289 0300.
There is a troubleshooting chart:

Do you have 6.2 ref in step 2? My Pana tries to pwr on for a few sec and then turns off. The LED then blinks continuously at a 1Hz rate. I can press and hold the pwr switch and recycle pwr. The TV would sometimes come on after that, but lately it doesn't help anymore.

I guess you are saying the TV Shut down with 1 blink error code, it is standby power STB5V missing, I suggest you replace A (main) board or P (Power) board.

  • pitt_steel Jan 03, 2011

Ya, pretty much just blinks continuously at a steady rate... no code that I can tell from the blinks... unless it is a really long one.

TV wont turn on. I unplug the power cord and here a clicking noise inside the back of the TV. Plug it back in and try turning it on but still nothing. I try the power button on the TV as well as trying...

Very good TV. Since this is LCD there's not much that goes wrong with them except their internal power source. You will have to get it serviced. It is not something you can do without the expertise.

My tv won't turn on anymore. The power light and the opc light blink twice at the same time and then the opc blinks once and it keeps doing that. Please help!

Hi

Make sure the AC cord is not loose or disconnected. Check to ensure the cord is firmly plugged into the outlet at one end, and firmly connected to your television at the other end. The AC cord connects to the television about midway across the back of the set, near the bottom of the back panel. The hole for the AC connection is shaped like a figure eight. Try powering up the TV with the cords firmly connected.

Check the "Main Power" to ensure it is on. Locate the button on the top of the television among the "Volume" and "Channel" buttons. Press the button to switch the television on. If the "Main Power" button is off the remote will not turn on the television. Wait to see if pressing "Main Power" will activate the TV.

Press "TV Power" on the remote control to power up the TV from stand-by mode. If the power light on the front of the television glows red when you press "TV Power" on the remote, press the "Main Power" button on top of the television to remove the TV from stand-by. If the TV is accidentally in stand-by mode it may not come on when pressing certain buttons.

Check the circuit board. If your set still won't turn on and you hear a clicking noise when you plug it in, you most likely have a defective circuit board.

CANT CONTROL TV

I am currently experiencing this exact same problem with my 47LG50. Since the original thread was posted more than three months ago, I imagine the original poster has had his/her issue resolved, but I can still relay what LG told me to try when I called them. Did it work for me? No. I have to call The Geek Squad with Best Buy (as the TV is no longer under manufacturer's warranty, but thankfully, we bought the extended warranty with BB), but it could work for some, according to the representative I spoke with.

Try taking the batteries out of the remote, and see if this resolves the issue alone. If not, try unplugging the TV entirely and holding the power button down (it's just under the power light, carefully hidden, and shaped like a smile) for at least 40 seconds. After that, plug the TV back in and power it up to see if it has resolved the issue with the flashing menus. Even if it seems to have done, you might want to leave it on and keep an eye on the screen for a while. I had mine abate for a little bit, but then it went right back to flashing menus. The issue of it powering on by itself will be pretty easy to notice if it is still doing it.

I hope this helps someone, although it didn't work for me. =)

Cant get the remote to turn tv on off or channels

hmmm.. Do you have another remote that will operate that tv, try that remote and see if it will turn on and off the tv. IF you bought this new remote because your old one quit working it may be the tv and not the remote. If you have a camera phone you can check your old remote. Turn on your camera and aim the remote at your phone, look at the picture on the phone and press the power button on the remote, you shuld see the front of the remote flash, if you do then it is the tv causing your issue.
