Question about Apple iBook G3 Mac Notebook
My husband found an iBook G3 Mac Notebook at work and the screen was smashed. I paid to have the screan repaired, bypassed the password but when I try and get online it won't let me. It keeps telling me that the enternal modem is idle and something about the ethernet. I'm not even sure what ethernet is lol and I'm really not familiar with Mac at all. I've always used windows. Can someone please help me get this laptop up and running. I'd really love to use it. I've heard great things about Apple Notebooks, even this older model. Thanks
If it Mac OS X what to do is plug in the ethernet cable into the slot that has above it a symbol like <--> then on your macbook go to the apple menu then down to system preferences and then network click on show and select built-in ethernet and then under the TCP/IP tab configure using DHCP and then click on the apply now button at the bottom right of the network panel. Your IP address should be supplied form your ISP. If it doesn't get back to us.
