Question about Pentair Kreepy Krauly Inground Automatic Cleaner

My Kreepy Krauly works for 10-15 minutes and then stops hammering and sits on the pool floor. I have replaced and checked parts and the pump runs well.

You may have a hose that allows air to get sucked in at times when the unit moves and the hose with crack is able to float to the surface and make contact with outside air. move hoses around and see if that helps you can also start from the closest connection at the suction port and lift the hose out of the water one section at a time hold it out of water for a moment and see if you notice any weird feeling or hear a slurping do this section by section until you get to the last hose section at kreepy head

Kreepy krauly not cleaning whole pool

If the pool hose has been used for a long time it becomes set in a particular position. Twist the hose at least at leasr 90 degrees so that the hose is set in a different configuration and the Kreepy krauly will go to a different part of the pool.

I have a 20X40 rectangular liner pool and my kreepy krauly stays in the deep end of the pool. I think I need to adjust the weights. Where should the weights be placed?

The first weight from the cleaning head should be adjusted so the Kreepy sits flat on the floor with the system turned off. Then you can start moving the next weight until it starts climbing the hill to the shallow end. It may take a few times but if you get the weights set correctly it should work.

I have great water pressure in my pool, but the minute I attach my Kreepy Krawly, the pressure drops and there is a large vacuum in the pump reservoir. the Kreepy hardly moves at all thereafter.

It sounds like your you might not have all of your suction lines closed. Check to ensure that the main drain and all suction lines are closed, except for the suction line to which Kreepy Krauly is attached. If this is not the problem, it could be that the pool pump and filter system that you have may be too small It should be capable of providing at least 25 gallons per minute. These are common issues with these pool cleaners.

MY kreepy krauly does not move around the pool, appears to have too much suction and I hardly pull it off the floor of the pool even! I have a new sole, does it need a new tongue! Thanks Vikki

First, make sure that the main drain and all other lines are closed except the one that your pool cleaner operates from. You might need to install a manual by-pass valve (Part #K12094). It could be that your pump is too powerful for this cleaner, which would be solved by the manual bypass valve.

Kreepy crawly keeps stopping but nothing is blocked

With Kreepy Krauly pool cleaners, it is usually something blocked so you have taken the perfect first step in finding your problem. You will also want ensure that the main drain and all suction lines are closed, except for the line to which the Kreepy Krauly is attached. Also, if this is a new purchase, it could be that your pump and filter system are too small to properly propel the cleaner.

My kreepy krauly seems to have good suction, but moves very slow. I usually hear a tic, tic, tic, tic, But, lately it has been tic....tic......tic Very Slow

Try these suggestions to get your automatic pool cleaner working properly:
• Check to ensure that the main drain and all suction lines are closed, except for the suction line to which Kreepy Krauly is attached.
• Check for debris in the filter or pump basket.
• Check for debris in Kreepy Krauly’s flapper. Debris may prevent flapper movement or restrict flow.
• Check the hose to ensure there are no leaks.
• Check the vacuum connection. It should be submerged so no air enters the system.
• Check the pump basket lid for looseness, cracks, and worn or missing O-rings.

Kreepy Krauly In-Ground Pool Cleaner: my creepy crawler wont hammer...

This usually happens when there is a small stick jambing in the bottom of the openning in the Kreepy Krauly where it sucks in the water and rubbish. It is the rubber tube that has a ****, usually something is jambed in the **** to prevent it from thumping.

Our kreepy krauly will not stay suctioned to the bottom of the pool. What can we do?

Check for air leaks in your hoses, your pump or in the plumbing system. Also check for clogs in your pump impeller if you have any problems with your basket. Good luck.

My kreepy Krauly will start up and within 5 stops working.

If it is a year old, replace the flapper valve. Also check your water flow and make sure it is adequate. These units are subject to wear on the foot and flapper and these should be changed each season

Krauly does not sit flat on bottom of pool floor, also leans to one side

check the dive/float assembly. It's the dual float with arms that is hinges off of the main body. It should be near the bottom, if it has come loose and is near the top of the unit, it will cause the problems you mentioned. You may have to replace the weight holder to fix it.
