Headphone some times one of them doesn't work

The wires commonly tear inside the rubber insulation.
Only a handy, experienced cildl-solder technician could spot and repair this, so good luck. Your best and practical solution may be to buy a new set.

Dell 5650

What you need is a splitter and not an adapter. Forget the colors yellow, green, black. They are not relevant. The business end of those colors occur inside the box. Dell manufactured these "bass ackwards". You need a 3-way headphone splitter and that will solve your problem. I bought a RadioShack Headphone Splitter Cable model 42-2458. Hope this helps. Just plug into headphone outlet

Only the right ear is getting sound on my brand new HD 428s. I've tried other audio programs and other headphones, and all work fine.

You have to trace the wiring inside of your headphone because probably there is an open wire or short wire inside of your headset. You need a multitester to determine where is exactly the troubled wire. Have a nice day!

What can I do to fix a cable issue in my headphone? The right side doesn't work unless I move around the wire attached to the headphone.

Hi, what makes oneofthe earphones not to work,is because the wire inside the right side of the earphone hascut and will need to soldered back to it's position.

Open the right side of the earphone, and use a soldering iron and a lead to put back the wire properly.
after put back the wire, problem solved.

Thanks for using fixya..

Right speaker in headphone wire is broken or something, keeps going out when the headphone wire is moved. is there anyway to repair this?

The wire connection inside the cable is broken. You can disassemble it, cut the wire past the broken point (usually where it makes a sharp bend) and re-solder it. If the wire is too short, you need to get an new wire or get the wire from a donor headphone and replace it.

Skull candies only work when i move the cord for a little bit

Sounds like one of the wires got pinched and broke. Check the wire for any spots where the insulation ripped open and tape them up with electrical tape and try it again. If that doesn't work you'll have to buy a new pair of headphones.

Fixed broken headphones but sound quality has plummeted

it sounds as if the wires are wired wrong . yes it is best to solder the wires.all jacks are the same, yours will be stereo i believe. is the braid attached to the earth point, the two other wires attach to the centre of the plug and the other terminal point. these are right and left.
