Dear Sir,

I think you're talking about double-sided or duplex printing. If so, you should be able to this through the Print dialog:

1.Press CTRL/P.
2.Check the Manual Duplex checkbox. This will cause Word to print one side of the sheets, then tell you to put the paper back in so it can print the other side.

Hope that helps

    FLOWO THE STEPS

    1. 1
Switch off the printer and disconnect the power supply. Allow any residual charge to fade away before putting your hands or metal tools inside the chassis.
    2. Step 2
Pin down the exact location of the jam. The three hot spots for a jam are the paper tray, anywhere between the feed tray and the print carriage, or between the print carriage and the output tray.
    3. Step 3
Take off the front paper tray if the sheet got stuck while it was still in the front area of the printer. If the sheet jammed here, you should be able to see most of the paper.
    4. Step 4
Pull on the sheet with both hands and steady pressure. Do not tug as you might rip the paper, leaving a chunk of it deeper in the machine.
    5. Step 5
Open the back panel to reach paper jammed between the feed tray area and the print carriage of the all-in-one printer. Carefully remove the jammed paper from the machine.
    6. Step 6
Use the carriage access door to reach a jam further inside the all-in-one printer. You may need to move the print carriage out of your way to clear the jam.
    7. Step 7
Return any access panels to their closed and locked positions. Plug your printer back in and flip the power switch.

    1 Answer

Keeps saying there is a jam in the paper feed, when you open the front door there is no jam, reclose it and it will print

    1. Step 1
Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer before you begin. With the power disconnected, you will protect yourself from being shocked. This is an important step when you are fixing any type of electronic device.
    2. Step 2
Move your printer so that you'll have access the back panel. Unhinge the back access panel of the printer.
    3. Step 3
Look for paper through the opened back panel. Remove any paper you find jammed.
    4. Step 4
Close the back access panel. Make sure that it latches into place and looks the same way it did before you opened it.
    5. Step 5
Open the front or top access panel. This is the panel you use to access ink cartridges. If the carriage that holds the ink cartridges moves, then you forgot to unplug the printer. Go back and do that now. Look for paper that may be jammed in this area of the printer.
    6. Step 6
Remove any paper you find jammed here. There will be resistance from the paper feeder, so pull slowly or the paper will rip and create a more serious problem.
    7. Step 7
Close the front access panel. Make sure that it latches back into place.
    8. Step 8
Plug the printer in and attempt to print again. If you can print successfully, you have removed the paper jam.

Hope this helps. Please rate my response.
    Thanks.
    Have a good day.

    Paper jams /canon480

Protect yourself from shock. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the Canon Inkjet Printer. This is an important step when working inside ANY electronic device.
  • Step 2 Unhinge the back access panel of the printer. It seems repetitive to say this, but this door will be in the BACK of the printer.
  • Step 3 Look through the opened back panel and look for paper. Remove any and all paper you find jammed there.
  • Step 4 Close the back access panel. Make sure that it latches into place and looks the same way that it did before you opened it.
  • Step 5 Find the front or top access panel. This is the panel you would lift to change ink cartridges. Open this access panel. If the carriage that holds the ink cartridges moves, then you forgot to unplug the printer, go back and do that now. Look for paper that may be jammed in this area of the printer.
  • Step 6 Remove any paper you find jammed here. When pulling from the front there will be resistance from the paper feeder. Pull slowly or the paper will rip and create a more stressful problem.
  • Step 7 Close the front access panel. Make sure that it falls or latches back in place. It should look the same way that it did before you opened it.
  • Step 8 Plug the printer's power cord into the wall outlet, and attempt to print again. If the printer prints the job, then you have successfully removed the paper jam.

    1 Answer

Printer wil print when scanning but not from computer

There are a few steps you will need to follow to resolve this problem. Follow these steps one after the other. start with the first step. after each step, try to print and see what happens. if your problem is resolved, ignore the other steps.

Step one: Clear any paper or carriage path obstructions

    1.
With the product turned on, open the print cartridge access door. The print carriage might try to move into the access area. If so, allow it to move to that position.
    2.
Without turning off the product, unplug the power cord from the back of the product. Unplug the power cord from the power source. The power cord must be unplugged to allow the parts to be moved by hand and to reset the paper feed mechanism, without the risk of an electrical shock.
    3.
Looking in through either the print cartridge access door or the output paper tray, make sure the print cartridges are locked into the carriage and have not come loose. Also, make sure that there are no obstructions under or around the carriage to block it from moving.
    4.
Make sure the print carriage can move freely across the width of the product by gently pushing the carriage to the left and then to the right. Clear any obstructions found.
You may have to reach through the output paper tray to access the print carriage.
    5.
Close the print cartridge access door and plug the power cord back to the back of the product. Plug the power cord into the power source.
    6.
Press the On button to turn on the product.

Step two: Ensure correct installation of the front panel overlay
If the front panel overlay, or bezel, is incorrectly installed, the product may indicate a false carriage stall error condition. If the product has not been set up before, ensure correct installation of the front panel overlay by following the instructions below.
If the front panel overlay is already installed, and your printer has been working for some time, do not attempt to re-install the overlay. Press firmly on the overlay to ensure proper installation of the overlay adhesive or pins.
NOTE: If you have already installed the front panel overlay, proceed to the next step.

    1.
    Disconnect the power cord.
    2.
Locate the front panel cover and peel off the paper backing to expose the adhesive as shown in the graphic below.

    3.
Lift the scanner lid and carefully line up and install the front panel overlay.

    4.
    Plug the power cord in.
    5.
Try the print job again to see if this step resolved the issue.
    *
If the issue is resolved , you do not need to continue with the rest of the instructions on this page.
    *
If the issue is not resolved , continue to the next step.

Step three: Plug the product directly into a wall outlet
Verify that the product is properly connected to a suitable power source by following the instructions below.

    1.
Verify that the computer and the all-in-one product have a three-prong power plug.
    2.
Unplug the power cable from the back of the all-in-one.
    3.
Unplug the product cable from any power strips or surge suppressors, and plug it directly into a grounded (three-prong) wall outlet.
    4.
Plug the power cable into the back of the all-in-one.
    5.
Try the print job again to see if this step resolved the issue.
    *
If the issue is resolved , you do not need to continue with the rest of the instructions on this page.
NOTE: If the product prints when plugged directly into a wall outlet while unplugged from any power strips or surge suppressors, the power strip or surge suppressor may not be allowing sufficient voltage to reach the product.
    *
If the issue is not resolved , continue to the next step.

Step four: Perform a partial reset
A partial reset will return user settings to factory defaults. you may have, language and country/region settings also resetted. Perform a partial reset of the product by following the instructions below.

    1.
Unplug the power cord from the unit.
    2.
Reconnect the power cord into the unit.
    3.
When the lights begin to flash, press and hold the On/Resume and Paper Size buttons.
    4.
When only the On/Resume light is flashing, release the buttons.
When the On/Resume light is steady, the reset is complete.
    5.
Try the print job again to see if this step resolved the issue.
    *
If the issue is resolved , you do not need to continue with the rest of the instructions on this page.
    *
If the issue is not resolved , continue to the next step.

Step five: Remove and re-install the print cartridges
Improper placement or installation of the product's print cartridges can cause the product to indicate a carriage stall error condition. Ensure correct installation of the print cartridges by following the instructions below.

    1.
With the printer plugged in and turned on, open the cartridge access door (see the illustration). After a moment, the print carriage should come to the center.
The print cartridge carriage is the plastic part that holds the print cartridges.

NOTE: If the carriage does not come to the center, try turning the printer off and on.
    2.
When the carriage is at the center of the access area, unplug the printer.
    3.
Remove the cartridges from the carriage and check them for damage. Check for obstructions under and around the carriage. Replace any damaged cartridges.
NOTE: Try to inspect and reinstall the cartridges as quickly as possible, so that they do not dry out. Avoid touching the copper-colored parts of the cartridge.

    4.
    Reinstall the print cartridges.
    *
The black or photo cartridge goes on the right.
    *
The tri-color cartridge goes on the left.

    5.
Close the cartridge access door, plug the printer back in and turn it on.
    6.
Try the print job again to see if this step resolved the issue.
    *
If the issue is resolved , you do not need to continue with the rest of the instructions on this page.
    *
If the issue is not resolved , continue to the next step.

    Step six: Service the product
If you have completed all the steps listed above and are still experiencing a problem, service the product.
