Question about Fisher Paykel Eco IWL16

1 Answer

My f & P excellence 7.5 has a recurring problem. It tries to fill up, but in short bursts it stops and starts trying to fill and then gives up and beeps every second. It has done this befoe and I have been able to switch it off at the power point for some time and eventually, sometimes after minutes, sometimes after days, it has come good. But this time it just wont seem to work. I have tried to get it to spin, but it stops as i has the same problem with flushing in the water. the outlet taps are definiely on. I have also tried filling it with water manually, but it will not wash.

Water spurting is not uncommon and can mean a cold inlet valve is faulty, however if you've filled the machine independently, with the water level set to 'low', and it won't work it could be the out of balance switch. This is situated below the motor control board. It's an awkward job for a user, but not for an experienced tech...Not an expensive fix....Good luck....Nomess

Natural gas heater with auto (electric) ignite... The exhaust fan is coming on when the unit is turned on, but it is failing to ignite. I can hear it trying to ignite several times, then it stops. Is...

First make sure your gas is on. If that's not it make sure the pilot tube itself is cleaned out try tapping on the pilot head to remove any build up. The furnace on a call for heat will first start the combustion blower then start the ignition procedure, that first starts the spark igniter or glow plug then timed through the circuit board a short 3 second burst of gas after the 3 second burst if the flame sensor does not sense the flame a short purge cycle runs another 3 second burst of gas and then try's for ignition again. Knowing this the only thing it could be is a gas related problem either no gas or no gas making it to the pilot head or the gas valve itself is not opening so check the gas and the pilot tube if there fine then you're more than likely looking at a new gas valve. Sometimes tapping on the gas valve will free a stuck valve.

Hope this helps and please remember to grade me.......thanks again

F&P Smartdrive 058 filling in short bursts then stopping.

I had the same problem today. shephonos 18 had the correct diagnosis. Out of balance micro switch seized. Situated under the main circuit board. Cherry electric Corp 0.1amp 125 volt sptd type switch. jaycar has them for under $4.
I un-seized it with some electrical cleaning spray, fixed itshort term, no worries.
Thanks Stephanos 18.
