Hi,
I am trying to get an Intel EtherExpress PRO/100 Mobile working in my notebook, but when I install it I have a few problems.
It seems to be detected OK, and Windows 98 automatically installs the drivers, but when I reboot, it freezes at the splash screen. If I reboot without the card, it reboots fine, but then when I put the card in, it beeps, then freezes. If I then take the card out, the screen goes blank, and it sometimes reboots.
I have also tried installing the card by placing it in first, then starting the laptop, and I get the same problem.
Am I having a conflict here?
Thanks in advance
Greg

Thank you for your post.
This sounds to me like it could be a PCMCIA Card Controller issue. I
would check with your computer manufacturer to see if there are any
other issues similar to this one. Do you have any other PCMCIA devices
that exhibit the same symptoms? Have you downloaded and used the latest
drivers from the following web site?

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the feedback.
I have now taken the Acer notebook back for a full refund. If it does not work with something as standard as an Intel card, I didn't want it.
Regards
Greg
