Hello Lisa and welcome to Fixya,

The problem you`re describing is a very common one with Bosch built dishwashers, unfortunately. My first suggestion would be to phone an authorized B/S/H/ service provider (Bosch) It can be a fairly involved repair, I`ll explain why as best as possible...

The issue with your Bosch dishwasher likely lye`s within`the electronic timer/control,( 99% of the time ) specifically the heater relay solder joint. ( a faulty flow switch, ntc or heater can also cause this, but not very probable ). This is why it runs forever unless pressing the two buttons for "cancel".

To repair your unit It will require you to remove the control from the unit and then remove the control from it`s plastic housing and look for a burnt solder contact on the printed circuit board. This will be one of the pins from the heater relay, hence the unit sits and runs & runs ( because it can`t heat to advance or until canceled ) trying to heat the water.

**Further to this, if you or someone you know is proficient at soldering, a lot of times it can be remedied by simply repairing the solder...although Bosch recommend`s replacing the control and I don`t pretend to speak on thier behalf nor do I profess to know better. This is just my experience (it work`s) and my opinion (why buy new if one can repair ?)**

**Please disconnect the power before attempting any service to the dishwasher. If you do not feel comfortable attempting this service, call a local pro, preferably one familiar with Bosch/Thermador/Gaggenau, to service your machine.**

Hope this answer`s your question's, let me know if I can assist you further. Thank`s for visiting "fixya" for your repair inquiries. Please take a moment and rate this solution to it's helpfulness to you and leave a testimony if you're satisfied.

Good luck.

Hi Lisa,
If the water fills the tub correctly and you hear the washer motor go on, do you see the timer led count down? If the number doesn't count down then there is a problem with the controls board which changes the washing/rinse cycles. A replacement board is about 100 buck.

I was shown how to clear your dishwasher and keep it running much longer. however, be careful when doing this. start with an empty dishwasher. pour 12 cups of cold water to the bottom area of tub and wearing latex, or rubber gloves, measre and por in exackly 2 cups of ammonia. let that solution sit there either all day, or overnight, at least a few hours, then run it through your machine, do not add anything else. do not do this with small children around. if you prefer buy the largest jug od vinegar (white) and pour it full strength into tub of your macine. let stand sevral hours, then put through a light or regulsr cycle. if you encountet that same problem empty, press drain cycle. retry usingrinse cycle instead. let me know if his resolnves your problem.

I need an owner manuel for Caloric Range Model # EST 345 I can'g figure out how to run the self cleaning oven cycle.

you might try the following, although it is the instructions for an old model, it may be relevant;

"The actual self-cleaning process is initiated by a simple 5 step procedure: 1. Set the range clock to time of day. Note: on models not equipped with an automatic oven timer, the self-cleaning cycle is preprogrammed for a 21/2 hour cycle. Use Steps 3, 4 and 5 only. 2.Establish the length of cleaning time by:
A. Setting the start time. Press and turn the start dial of the automatic oven timer clockwise to the desired starting time. B. Set the stop time. Press and turn the stop dial of the automatic oven timer clockwise to the desired stop time. Max time is 3 hours miniumum 1/12 hours. 3. Set the oven selector dial on the control panel to "Clean" 4. Set the temperature control dial to "off". If you temperature control dial has a "Clean" position, then set the dial to "Clean" instead of "Off". 5. Remove oven racks, broiler pan and broiler grid from lower oven. Close and lock the oven door by moving the latch lever as far right as it will go - into the locked position. If the lever is accidently dislodged restore it to the locked position. Otherwise, the self-cleaning process will not take place. Shortly after the cleaning cycle has begun, the oven temperatur reaches a degree in excess of the normal broiling temperature. The red "Clean" light will come on and the clean cycle will start. In a few minutes the door lock lever, which you have placed in the locked position, will automatically be secured to prevent the oven door from beging opened during the cleaning cycle. This latch remains locked until the clean cycle is complete and the oven temperature reduces to normal baking and broiling temperaturs. NOTE: Prior to self cleaning cycle operation, the oven and surface lights must be turned offed. The upper oven can be used."
