I've tried everything before for months... unplugging, new cartridges, servicing, etc. I've always avoided jarring an electronic item, but hitting the front fixed it! A couple of open-palmed smacks above the paper drawer, and it printed this very page. Apparently, sometimes the cover over the laser sticks shut after replacing the print cartridge, or removing a paper jam. Sounds crazy, but smack it!

Can anyone tell me where the formatter is located?
Is it part of the mainboard of the mf5750?
I read somewhere, that the formatter is responsible, if standard printing works (status reports etc), but normal printing tasks do not.
Really no solution guys? I cannot believe this.
Thanks for any advice.

Replaced a printer cartridge type 106 with same. Everything was done according instruction. The printer printed several pages and now will not print anything but a blank page. what needs to be done to...

Check to see that the toner cartridge does not still have a "Pull Strip" on the cartridge. or Remove the cartridge and gently rock the cartridge a few times in your hands and re-install.

If the paper feeds through but nothing is on it, it indicates that the toner is not being properly fed. Go to this link, type "printout is blank" in the Search window and click the search button. Next, click on the "Printout is blank" line, and review the document. Especially check that you have removed the seals from the toner cartridge (see steps 7 and 9 on the second part).

How to locate the printer head for model mf5500

The Canon MF5500 series are laser printers. There is no print head. If your pages are coming out blank, check that you have sufficient toner. If you have toner, then the machine may require service.
