casio exilim 7.2 mega pixel camera, will not remain on when turned on. Has error message of (RETRY POWER ON) &( LENS ERROR) . Any Ideas ? Resets ?

Lens gets stuck and wont take pictures. Turn back on and it says retry power on. Thats helpful. :(

I have a Power Shot A580 that had the same lens problem: lens wouldn't retract causing a lens fault.

I powered down the camera
I pushed the lens to a collapsed (flush) position. I hated to do this, but the fault was caused by the lens being partially extended in an off state.
I turned the camera back on. It is working fine.

that happened to me and there was nothing i could do but have it professionally fixed...not it works fine and it cost less than it would to buy a new camera
