Question about Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional

Open Question

I am trying to combine several documents (1 PowerPoint file, 3 Word files) into a single PDF. I am able to turn one document into a PDF. But when I try to use "Options >> Insert Pages" -or- "File >> Create PDF >> From Multiple Files..." option, I get an error message that says: "Missing PDFMaker files. Do you want to run the installer in repair mode?". I click yes. It then says "Please wait while Windows configures Adobe Acrobat 7.0" It then says "You must restart your system for the configuration changes made to Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional to take effect. Click Yes to restart now or No if you plan to restart later." I restart, then try the whole process of creating a PDF from multiple files (or adding a file to the PDF that I can make with just one file) I will be adding images of the error message I am getting in a comment to follow. Does anyone have any suggestions, I'm trying to send some documents to one of our Experts, so this is for the good of the community! ;D Thanks!

This is the initial error message that I receive:

Alright, I figured it out. It turns out that even though Adobe would let me select files in formats other than PDF to combine into one document, it wouldn't actually work with those other formats.

I had to save each file individually as a PDF (by opening them, then selecting Print, then choosing Adobe PDF as the printer) then combining them.

    Hope this helps someone else!

SOURCE: I have installed Adobe Acrobat 7 on my laptop that

Good Afternoon -
Direct from Adobe, they state that versions 9 and above are compatible with Windows 7, and any versions 8 or prior are not supported and updates to make compatible will not be released. There are two solutions, one that may work and one that will definitely work. The first is to try to install the program under Windows XP compatibilty, natively on Windows 7. To do this, find the executable for installation, right click and select properties. On the comptability tab, click the check box that says: Run this program in compatibility mode for: and select Windows XP (Service Pack #) from the drop down, and proceed to install, running the installer as Administrator. The other guaranteed way is if you have Windows 7 , any version other than starter, you can enable Windows XP Mode which creates a virtual PC of XP on your machine and integrates the program references into Windows 7. Details on this can be found:

Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

The easiest way to convert a word document to .pdf is to simply right-click on the file to see if there is an option to "convert to .pdf"., then left-click on that option.

Hope this helps. :)
