Question about Dishwashers

1 Answer

THe door suddenly won't shut all the way. I made sure there was nothing physically in the way--duh--then realize it has to do with the door itself. I made sure the inside of the latch (I guess that it would be called the feamle side) wasn't gunked up. The male side is free of gunk, dose not seem to be damaged. HELP!!!

Hi,

Usually the only reason a dishwasher door will not close is if either someone has fallen on the door and stretched the door hinges which would then require a service call to replace them or if the unit is not level. if the unit is not level then the door will not line up with the latch. Check this first you may just need to wind up one of the feet to make it level again and close properly.
To check the door hinges open the door fully and if the door goes past 90 degrees when looking at the unit from the side then they are stretched.
Hope this helps

What is the range for my doorbell or do I need an amphliphier?

These units (not just this brand) seem to be notoriously under-powered, particularly if there is any substantial structure (brick, stone, etc.) between the pushbutton and the chime unit. Try to locate the two pieces as close to each other as possible. Make sure the pushbutton unit has fresh batteries. If practical, mount the pushbutton unit on the door itself instead of the door frame (but only if the door is NOT made of metal.) *Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer, despite the handle. Door won't close, blinks 10 times, sensor light yellow

Anytime the main light flashes 10 times and the door reverses to the open position it is a door sensor problem or the wiring to them. Nothing else causes this symptom.

No. check this post from right here.

Question: was the fridge running when you went to pick it up ?
Was it already on ?
My thinking is that you have the ice build up problem too and that it never thawed. If you unplug it, thawing could take days. Seriously. If you take the inside panel off and get some heat on it
only an hour or so.
You have the exact same model I do, and it works good, just designed poorly. It needs a drain hole on that condensor.
And your fan probably is fine. Do not spend $500.

Refrigerator door won't shut

Check to see if the door gasket has forzen water that is preventing it from collapsing like it should and wedging the door open. This would most likely be on the hinge side of the door.

Also make sure the gasket is not bent or warped and binding as it closes.

Let us know if you find nothing wrong there and we can look further.
